Optimal Health Care (OHCInc) provides a combination of nursing and therapy services at the clients’ home – all under the direction of a physician. Working with each client’s physician, our qualified staff will plan, coordinate, and provide care tailored to the client’s needs.
Included in our professional home health staff are:

We are certified under various state and federal programs and contracted with several health insurance networks. Check with our office or on the Payment Type page to verify whether or not we presently participate in any specific programs pertaining to your needs.
Skilled nursing involves the use of nursing process to ensure that patients receive the right kind and amount of care to achieve health and wellness. Included in the nursing process are performing accurate assessment and diagnosis, planning, carrying out interventions and performing evaluations. Our skilled nurses are competent to perform these tasks to effectively help facilitate measures that will contribute to our patients’ recovery.
Included in our skilled nursing services are:
• Ostomy care
• Assistance in ambulation and safe transfer
• Incontinent care
• Diabetic care
• IV therapy
• Formulation of care plans to ensure continuity of care
• Medication administration
• Providing assistance with ADL’s (activities of daily living)
• Psychosocial support
Our nurses make sure that our patients receive quality assistance in accordance to their rights.

Products

We strive to provide services that will promote our clients’ independence. We have physical therapists who coordinate with the entire health care team to ensure that the patient’s integrity and well-being are maintained and/or restored.
Included in our physical therapy services are:
• Perform accurate clinical assessment to identify the needs of the patient to ensure appropriate interventions are carried out
• Perform therapeutic interventions based on medical assessment
• Assist patients in performing range of motion exercises to maintain neuromuscular integrity
• Maintain flexibility of documented care of plan to make sure that the patient’s changing needs are adequately met
• Use of therapeutic communication techniques when collaborating with the other members of the health team

At OHCInc Home Health Services, we provide occupational therapy to help our patients maintain a sense of self-control. By providing them with alternatives to effectively cope with their conditions, their sense of belongingness is maintained as they continuously contribute to the community development despite of the difficulties that they continue to experience.
Included in our occupational therapy services are:
• Assessing patient’s needs
• Providing assistance in accurately determining other therapies that may be applicable in strengthening patient’s coping abilities
• Identifying simple tasks that are appropriate for patients and helping them achieve those tasks
• Using therapeutic communication when talking to a patient and to his or her family

We have speech therapists who are experienced in helping patients maintain or restore their abilities to communicate with others effectively. They help our patients progressively cope with speech defects or disabilities.
Included in our speech therapy services are:
• Facilitating breathing exercises
• Assisting patients with the gradual use of voice
• Identifying alternatives to communication
• Utilizing other devices that will help patients in communicating with others (i.e., charts, audiovisual aids, tape recorders)

At OHCInc. Home Health Services, we have home health aides who are committed to making our patients feel comfortable to live in their own homes. They provide direct care that is very much needed by our patients.
Essential functions of our home health aides are:
• Provide direct care under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Assist patient during ambulation and safe transfer
• Maintain a clean and secure environment that promotes recovery and privacy for the patient
• Assist the patient in performing ADL’s (i.e., bathing, dressing, grooming and hygiene, eating and walking)
• Encourage family members to participate in providing personal care to the patient
• Use therapeutic techniques when communicating with patients, families and other health team members

Optimal Health Care Inc provides ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION or “LIVESCAN” fingerprinting to Maryland’s CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) and FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) for the purpose of Federal and State background checks.
We are authorized through CJIS to provide fingerprinting services to applicants throughout the state of Maryland. We service a variety of industries such as nurses and nursing school graduates, professional licensing and certification applicants, child care and adult care providers, and other employment related background checks.
The state of Maryland is currently transitioning from the use of inked fingerprinting cards to the use of LiveScan electronic fingerprinting machines. However, Optimal Health Care Inc will maintain its ink and slap equipment for applicants that require inked fingerprinted cards.
