Today I chose the broccoli beef for an evening meal. I also added on an order of egg drop soup. It was all as expected.Food: 4/5
Very good - not Americanized Chinese food You know it’s good when the place is packed with Asian folk and you’re the only white person there. Hot and sour soup is packed with vegetables, great mushroom base for the review below about it not being yellow/the yellow is an additive/hot and sour is mushroom base with cornstarch. this place doesn’t use color additives except possibly sweet and sour sauce Mandarin beef is definitely good Not really salty Just a great taste My friend from mainland China used to fix dishes for me.. very similar It’s just not Americanized like peiwei or whatever Thumbs up
Update: they have the best chicken wings in town! I have enjoyed the food here for years as Oriental Express has weathered several up and down business cycles because it is very good! I particularly enjoy #25, green bean garlic pork. The egg rolls are great. My wife likes the shrimp with lobster sauce. You can get hot mustard in the refrigerator to your right as you wait in line to order.
Delivery came pretty quickly and still pretty warm which was nice. Problem is the food was pretty much tasteless which is really surprising considering the reviews. I really expected more but the fried rice tasted like some instant rice that was decently hard/rubbery. Maybe this is an odd experience here but both me and my gf really disliked the food
Came to Oriental Express for takeout tonight and was pleasantly surprise how good the food and service were. Came by around 8:30 and got the sesame chicken w/ fried rice 7.25$ and the spicy fried chicken 6.75$. Both dishes comes with an egg roll and fried wonton. The food took less than 5 mins to cook and tasted pretty good. The portion size was decent for the price and they give you a lot of fried rice or more like white rice with seasoning sauce. I like to commend them for using chicken breast for their chicken that tasted more quality than the other Chinese restaurants. The waitress/owner at the counter were extremely friendly and nice. The food came out super quick and the prices are great. What else can you ask for?
This place should be a full 5 stars Without a doubt, I'd vote it as the absolute best Chinese food restaurant in the area. I ordered for the first time tonight and have nothing but great things to say. The fried rice is not the fake, prepackaged stuff with machine cut carrots and peas... It's real fried rice like you'd find at hibachi. The egg foo young was the best I've ever had. The service was also fantastic. I hope they continue to have success and will continue to order here regularly.
I walked in, the guy taking orders was watching a show on a tablet. Now I'll give him credit for stopping the show and taking my order. However there was one other person here and 5 tables with dirty dishes on them. The only reason I stayed was because of all the good reviews hoping the quality of the food would change my mind. I will never spend my money here again.
The chicken fried rice isn’t that great & I ordered egg rolls but they gave me spring rolls. They don’t even have springs rolls on the menu.Food: 2/5
I went there today for the first time in 30 years takeout. It was terrific. I had the lunch special with almond chicken. Absolutely HUGE portion size. Tasted just as I remembered. It was nice and clean, prompt service, friendly people. I'll definitely be back.
Rice was brown rice, not fried rice. Wonton was a fried tortilla chip. Egg roll was very tiny. Not worth the price. Husband said inside was dirty and sticky.Food: 2/5
