We absolutely adore the atmosphere of this campground. The spacious spots provide ample room for parking vehicles, and the mature trees offer plenty of shade. What impressed us even more is how well-maintained the grounds are. It's evident that the owners pour their heart and soul into ensuring their guests have a fantastic experience. They promptly appear to assist RVs during check-in, swiftly getting everyone set up and attending to their needs. Moreover, their on-site store is stocked with a variety of local souvenirs, candy, ice cream, and essential RV items, making it convenient for campers to find what they need. Families with kids will be thrilled by the excellent outdoor area designed for running and playing. The bounce toys are a huge hit, and the expansive indoor arcade provides hours of entertainment. Additionally, there are bikes for both kids and adults that you can rent and zoom around the campground. While the small pool at the front of the campground may not be in the most ideal location, it is well-maintained and frequented by many families. However, if you're seeking a place to swim or sunbathe, we recommend taking a short trip into town for a beach day in either Oscoda or Tawas. It's worth noting that there is a train that passes by the campground. If you're not a fan of trains, this might not be the ideal campground for you. However, if you can tolerate the fast-moving train that sounds its horn briefly and continues on its way, it shouldn't be much of a bother. What we really love is that you can ride your ORV from the campground to the riding trails. There are not many campgrounds in the area that allows this because of local ordinances. If this sounds like your type of camping experience, book early because weekends fill-up fast, especially when the local events and festivals are happening in the area.
Really great campground with lots of trees. There are tons of things for kids to do- a playground, bounce pillow, pool, game room and gem mining. Most of the sites are full hookup. The store has the necessities and a lot of cute souvenirs.
The Oscoda KOA is my family’s favorite campground! We have been camping here for years! We started camping in a tent then bought a travel trailer and now after selling our camper we camped in cabin 118 last week. I can honestly say that we have always felt welcomed, safe & we have had nothing but amazing interactions with the employees. Robin & Jan in the office are 2 of the sweetest women I’ve ever met. As far as the cleanliness of the cabin we stayed in SPOTLESS!! My family has been fortunate to travel to many campgrounds, hotels and resorts and our cabin here was cleaner than any of the 5* resorts we’ve stayed at. The campground bathrooms are just as clean. There are so many things to do for all ages but our favorite is the train. I can’t say enough positive things about this campground. We are already looking forward to our next visit!!
We really enjoyed staying there. I would like to say if you use cabin #109, take an extra beach towel to hang on the front door...the blinds in the door do not close properly and it is not private at all after dark. The bed was just ok, and I thought there would be soap for the shower provided. But it is a good place to stay! I know there isn't much room, but an actual chair to sit in would be nice for us 'older' folks. Nearby activities: We had fun on the playground and we walked to their little store that had lots of cool stuff that my granddaughter loved! And a great beach was 15 minutes away.
This is the best KOA I’ve ever stayed at! The staff is the true embodiment of 5 star service. We had issues with our camper and Michael and Bob were truly lifesavers. The campground itself is clean and safe and the location is amazing, 5 minute drive to oscoda beach, one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to in Michigan. They deliver firewood and ice to your sites and everyone in the camp store was so delightful. This is our go to spot from now on. Can’t recommend it enough.
Great campground- very clean, quiet, excellent employees and lots of things for kids to do. My teen and preteen were well occupiednot an easy task by the arcade, pool and jumping pillow. This was our first time camping on the East side of the state and we were super impressed with the Oscoda and Tawas beaches-such clean calm sandy water. Definitely will return!
Spent 4 days and 3 nights at this campground it was very nice lots of things for kids to do there pool, arcade, jumping pillow, play structure also they do train rides for the kids Friday and Saturday mornings! The staff there was awesome and the camp store was great too! Bathrooms were always clean definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice place to camp.
We stayed at the KOA camp grounds and enjoyed really ourselves. The arcade building is huge and amazing. There are fun basketball trampolines and a jump station for kids. The obstacle park for the dogs was fun. The pool is heated and a train goes thru every night around 9:30. So cool.Location: 5/5
Small campground but service is stellar. They deliver ice and wood to your site. Huge arcade building and k9 park is fun for kids and dogs. Deluxe lots are great. Bugs are not too bad. Black flies only appeared 2 days out of the week. Mosquitos are not too bad. Pool is excellent and warm. Bring a golf cart or enjoy walking. Lots of kids stuff to do. Kids don't have to worry about traffic. Place is between Tawas and Oscoda cities. Nearby activities: Beach and canoeing Walkability: Downtown shopping. 4 ice cream places.
This place was one of the best KOAs we have ever stayed at. Sites are large and NOT cramped. The vibe in the entire park was positive, family oriented and kid focused. The pool was wonderful. The bathrooms and showers have been redone and were gorgeous. One of the most well stocked and nice KOA stores I have ever seen. They had a train ride on Saturday - which even our 11 YO thought was fun. Then as an extra - the owners busted out an old fire engine and took the kids on rides around the park. The entire park is well maintained. Playground is HUGE AND - I hope they keep the retro Arcade with the 80s tables the way it is - maybe a few new games.. but the feel of it was so much fun. This is the way KOAs should be and how I remember them as a kid... KuDDOS - to this amazing family/KOA. Yes there was also a real train one of the two nights that came through and blew the horn at the crossing - but it only happened the one time and it was still early enough - that it didn't bother us.
