We have been coming for 3 years now and love it. I wish I knew the young lady who is staff but remembers us and always so kind and knows what campsites we like or what will accommodate for us. Pool is always clean. Majority campsites are a great size and love the campsites which are several surrounded by trees. My kids love coming to Sherwood. I always recommend Sherwood.
Such a great campsite for such a good value for family vacations. Our family comes here yearly and every year is just as great every time! Good open lots to park your car and be able to set up your tents/equipment. Many other families camping in the area with tents/RVs gives the site a good friendly environment with plenty of activities that can be done while camping there. There’s a pool by the entrance for hot summer days if you fancy a swim. A small convenience store in the front as well that’s easily a good 2-5 min walk from your campsite. Also available a playground and a field for kids to gather and play during your stay. Although any other stores/restaurants are a drive away, if come prepared enough, you should be good enough for at least a good days with no issues. Bathrooms are available and accessibility friendly both in the front and middle of the camp grounds for easy access and port-a-potties set around the campground just in case. Overall great for family vacations.Personally, would still come and continue the tradition every year.
Our RV site was roomy and not crammed compared to mast campgrounds in busy areas. I appreciate that. Lots of trees and natural shade, another plus. It wasn't super busy when we stayed beginning of June the pool was clean and the splash pad was a big hit for our 2 + 5 year old. It was SO cold though. Staff was nice. The playground was a nice size. The jumping pillow is loved by all. We will definitely come back when visiting the Dells.
It’s a decent camp ground. Bathrooms and showers are sub par. Soaps don’t work or are not filled up. Paper towels empty and floors are dirty. I see workers drive by all the time, but they don’t clean and refill bathrooms. A little more attention to detail and it would be much better. Very quite and peaceful though!
Good place to stay! Kids enjoyed the pool, splash pad and arcade. Bathrooms and showers are a little worse for wear but over all we had a great time camping there! The staff was very friendly and accommodating.Service: 5/5
We just got home from a five day camping trip with three of our grandchildren. We had an amazing time at Sherwood Forest. It is close to downtown Dells and many of the attractions we explored. The pool, splash pad, jump pad and trampolines at the campground were a huge hit!! The staff was very helpful, and were quick to answer any questions we might have. Would definitely recommend this campground, and look forward to returning!
Excellent campground with a VERY friendly and helpful staff. Great amenities and a great place to stay. Only issue we experienced was the showers only stayed on for about 5 seconds a push and it was a bit noisy. If they let me I’d rate this place 4.5. Rooms: Nice roomy campsites Nearby activities: Close to all Wisconsin Dells has to offer! Safety: Never felt in danger. Very safe area Noteworthy details: Great staff and great amenities
Great location, and that is the only positive here. We went half our week long stay with no power. The staff tried to fix the issue several times but spending three days with no a/c in 90 degree heat pretty well ruined our trip. We had our dog and weren’t able to leave the site with her in the camper. There were no apologies or offerings to make the issue right. The bathrooms and showers were DISGUSTING. I’m quite certain there were beavers clogging all the shower drains. The soap was always empty and there was always leaking dirty water all over the floor. There was only one truly functioning toilet on the women’s side. The trash was over flowing at all times and the sinks were also full of hair. The door said they were shut down daily for an hour of cleaning, but I’m not convinced that happened at all. The sites aren’t clearly marked, and the grass was long. Honestly I wouldn’t have even complained about those two issues, but the condition of this camp ground is miserable. I expected a LOT better for $55/night.
We have camped at Sherwood Forest many times in the past years with no issues, however, the last two times August 2022, and September 2023 have been horrible! Not sure if this campground is under new ownership that being said bathrooms are horrific stalls broke urinals broke showers are a mess vomit! campground is dirty sites are filthy loaded with debris. Quiet hours are not enforced. Had a group of campers camping next to us playing games till 1 o’clock in the morning swearing super loud no enforcement. This campground has really gone downhill. I will never stay there again and I would not recommend if you’re there with your kids, if you want a clean campground go somewhere else!! We left a day early because of these issues!!
If you’re looking for a lively place full of activities ie a big group, have kids, etc then this is the place for you. If you’re looking for a good place for peace and quiet, look elsewhere. There are posted quiet hours, but not enforced at all. AMENITIES: there’s a camp store with a pretty good selection of things you could need, both food and non-food. There’s a pool and a separate and very large splash pad area for smaller children. There is a laundry facility and also an arcade. There are multiple playgrounds, a jumping pillow, and some other play areas. There are also covered areas for picnics or gatherings with grills and tables. SITES: This place is PACKED and the sites are very close together again, great for groups. They have a section in the back that are labeled “secluded” and that’s what we chose and are so grateful we did. They are much larger than the others and have trees in between so they’re more private. BATHROOMS: simply put, they’re annoying. They’re the type you have to push the button and hold it constantly for water flow sinks and showers both, which makes it hard to shower with one hand. Doable, of course, but annoying. There are two bathroom/showers houses, one in the front and one in the back. The front one gets a lot of traffic from people in the pool all day so the floor is pretty disgusting wet and dirty. Appears as if it rarely gets mopped. The back bathhouse has a separate area for showers and each shower has its own lockable “room.” They only have one temperature, though, and over half of them are so scalding hot we couldn’t bare it. Very moldy ceilings and overall gave us the ick. *We basically live at campgrounds for how often we camp so our tolerance for things is relatively high. All this being said, we wouldn’t stay here again.
