Popped in while visiting Monterey on vacation. It's a neat little theater with a great selection of films and good concessions including popcorn with unique seasonings. Also has a cute little cafe attached with a myriad assortment of bake goods and full service kitchen.
This is a great place to enjoy a movie. They've got a nice little coffee shop included and they do lightweight food and beer. You can take the refreshments into the theater, which is nice. They generally show high quality movies. It's not your high power modern cinema behemoth, but it's has an intimacy missing from many theaters these days. Support them.
We rarely go to theaters so I was very pleased to have a good experience. The movie we saw has been out a bit and Drew a small crowd, so the theater it was shown in was very small. But the screen and sound were still very nice. I loved the options at the concession, from the coffee bar to the great seasoning options for the popcorn. The theater was clean and everyone was friendly too. Helpful hint: park in the parking garage and tell the attendant you are going to the theater. They give you a voucher to get your parking fees back when purchase movie tickets.
Small intimate theaters that screen interesting and unique independent films. You pick your seat from a map of the theater when you buy your ticket, so be prepared for that. Standard concessions but they do have beer, wine and boozy slushier available. You can also order from the adjoining cafe.
Good theaters, exceptional selections, and among the best, or simply the best - lobby experience of any of our local theaters really. Think of waiting around any of the 'big box' multiplexes vs this quaint lobby with a real coffee & pastry shop, real seats, not hard plastic ones and there's no comparison, unless you like being in a space a 30 -40' ceiling a video arcade ambience. It's a great place for your night out and in a fantastic setting
Very comfy small theatre! Wide selection of food, pastries & refreshments. We like the films offered here. They were not set to appear at our local movie house. This location's entrance is off the street. It's a bit hidden between buildings & up a flight of stairs to a veranda. There's a parking garage across the street.
The Tokyo tea is amazing. It's really nice to have an alcoholic beverage while watching a movie. There's also nutritional yeast for popcorn! The little coffee shop has amazing drinks and recommend their cappuccino. There's a cute outdoor sitting area that's nice to enjoy while drinking coffee waiting for the movie.
Lovely selection of indie films in this local theatre. I love how they were giving out free tickets for Christmas films in the week leading up to the Christmas weekend. The seats were a little creaky but still fairly comfortable. This is a place to go to if you're wanting to do something at night in Monterey!
Jolly cinema with a truly thoughtful selection of independent, foreign, and art house–type films. Affordable ticket prices. The coffee bar adjoining serves delicious coffee, and the popcorn at the cinema kiosk has enough toppings to win an article on Food52 think nutritional yeast, furikake. Local beer, too, and wine.
Great movie selection. Screen times are convenient. It's a realativly new building but feels old and dated. Staff is friendly and helpful. But the interior hallways and theaters are dreary. I love/hate this place.
