The food was great, but the server was dishonest. We ordered pork dumplings $5.95, chow fun photo, and chicken&corn soup. In the bill, it had shrimp dumplings $6.95 instead, I know it's just one dollar, but the server lied, saying it was the same price. He knew what he was doing. Be aware of their pricesFood: 5/5
The dim sum is not only reasonably priced, but a pleasant place to dine at. Really fancy a great Asian cruisine. Authentic! Nice staff as well :
very spacious place that's used for dimsum at early hours and sometimes banquet hosting later on. i went a bit later to dimsum 2-3pm they were really friendly and said that they can still serve us dimsum even though it's kinda late.Food: 5/5
The atmosphere was phenomenal. They repurpose an old bank and kept the beautiful architecture. The dim sum was delicious. The cart ladies were fast and attentive. Always around when we were low on food and personally brought out fresh items to our table when they were out of it on the cart. Although, there were 3 points of dissatisfaction. 1 being that the how elegant the place looked, the silverware and plate settings did not match. They were plastic and paper plates, one and done kind. 2 their beef short ribs was overly peppered and the meat was very dry even though it was smother in oily sauce. And lastly 3, the bathroom was not well maintained. Though better than most dim sum places bathroom. With that, it was loud and lively when we first arrive from all the other tables, but soon once everyone left, it got eerily quiet and not as welcoming. With all that said, overall it was a great experience. Most all of the food was delicious and decent sizes for the price. The decor was elegantly beautiful. And the service was prompt and attentive.
If you go when they first open it's quiet and slow and the carts are parked one table away from wherever you sit. Generally the food is good, but the quality could be better. HOWEVER, their plain rice roll, which is pictured, was fantastic because it's made fresh.
When you enter this 2nd floor restaurant, it seems you have entered a wedding banquet. The dining room is quite beautiful. Service is amazing. Very friendly and efficient. Even though one server takes your order, it is a team effort. We had multiple servers stop by to refill our water, get our food and check on us multiple times. Bathroom could be cleaner. The had soap was tied to the faucet which I thought was strange. Food was quite good. The check in the end was accompanied by orange slices and fortune cookies. A nice touch.
Sunday Dim Sum is one of the best ways to share a wonderful experience with family. So many incredible dishes were made available by the roving carts. Simple nod brought over fresh ,hot deliciousness our way. Loved the shrimp dim sum, steamed pork over rolled noodles. Every dish kept us on the edge of delight and food coma. We order many dishes to share and it was a perfect way to really experience the spectrum of tastes and textures. If you you are daring and want to try a real treat, get the chicken feetmade in 5 spice and soy. If you are gonna do it...this is the place. have been coming here for years but this is the first time I did morning dim sum...so glad I did. Will be back for more sometime soon.
A nice place if you are going to eat with a large party, they can accommodate. The meals we ordered were great and the service was good. The experience there was great. I would definitely return.
This is the worst place for dinning. My bestie has her wedding lunch at this place and the service is horrible. I told the manager that our table didn't have the fruits and light appetizers plates as the rest of the tables. The manager literally laughed and said because someone don't care to have them. I asked about the napkins and he simply said a lot of guests don't need them. Then the waitress came up later when they gave out food for each table, she complained that we moved the clean plates. She was rude and very unpleasant. We didn't do anything to the plates. When she came back to exchange the plates she yelled at me because she thought that I moved those plates. I yelled at her back if you don't want to service us don't service us, we are here for the wedding not your horrible service.
Egg and seaweed soup is bland, string beans are weirdly sweet, and fried rice is greasy. The mayo on the fried shrimp and broccoli is disgusting. The Peking duck is okay if you get the skin but otherwise it’s dry. I am Chinese and I grew up going to authentic Chinese places where service is bad but food is good. Normally when people leave bad reviews for a Chinese place complaining about the service, I actually get more excited about the food. I love that sort of place. But Pacific Palace does not simply have “bad service.” Even if you call and explain in Chinese that you will be coming from a funeral and bringing flowers, management will have the heartlessness to berate the grieving family about getting rid of the “ugly” flowers. Yes, even if you are in a corner that is sectioned off from the rest of the restaurant by curtains. Oh! And if you ask to discuss the situation separately, away from the parents dealing with such loss, management will literally refuse to move away from them. They will actually insist on yelling about it in front of a family who is grieving. I wish I was kidding. Again, it doesn’t matter if you called multiple times to tell them it was a funeral reception. And if, for whatever reason, you still decide to make a large reservation and pre-order food, do not believe the price Ms. Huang gives you. Not only is there a significant up-charge from the menu prices, but they’ll also ignore the number of tables you explicitly requested and put out more. Then they will charge you extra for the table you didn’t ask for, lie and pretend to have amnesia when you show them screenshots of your earlier conversation, and then refuse to accept anything but cash definitely not suspicious or tax evasion-y. Come to Pacific Palace if you want a mediocre meal and if you want to experience cruelty and heartlessness from management who knows about your loss and simply does not care. Come to this restaurant and see firsthand the trickery and greed that the owners will deploy just to get some more money from you in a time of sorrow. This isn’t “bad service” it is straight-up bizzare how psychopathic it is. Good luck to you if you decide to eat here, you WILL be taken advantage of.
