Description

Located on Lake Erie's shore, this 37-acre park was established in the early 1920s as a popular recreational area offering baseball fields, a dance hall, picnic areas, an open-air pavilion and a beach.

Through the years, Lake Erie has claimed the beach arid pavilion by erosion, but five softball fields and the dance hall remain as featured attractions. Lake Metroparks entered a cooperative lease agreement in 1991 with the Painesville Township Park commissioners to operate and manage the park. Since that time, more than $1 million worth of improvements have been made to the park, including extensive renovation of the dance hall and ball fields.

The Community Center is host to ballroom and country dances. An admission fee is charged at the door to most dances. The center also hosts many recreational and community programs throughout the year.

Softball fields

Painesville Township Park offers five regulation softball fields regularly used by leagues. For more information or to rent a field, contact Lake Metroparks Registration at 440-358-7275 or 800-669-9226.

Quiet relaxing spot to enjoy a sunset on Lake Erie on the pier. Always a great stop to watch sailboats go by in the summer.

We really enjoyed the small playground and especially the Pier.
Great place for an afternoon off or evening stroll. Fishing and relaxing. Has a fantastic space for walking and also a community center Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful park! This is the first time I've been here, since they built the pier, and it's gorgeous. Excellent place to sit and watch the sunset.
Very nice little nook of nature and rock fishing. The community pavilion has bathrooms. BYO drinks and food. No much shade as well.
With the new fishing pier, dance hall, baseball diamonds, history, and view of Lake Erie, this is a gem in the Lake County Metropark system. Recommended!.
Great spot for watching the sun set. The park has a small playground for young kids, baseball diamonds a meeting hall and concession stand which is not open very often.
We have the best Metroparks in the country! This pier just recently opened, and I couldn't be happier. The view is breathtaking, especially for sunsets. Plenty of benches or tables to sit and have a picnic or just relax. Lots of room for fishing off the pier, as well as well lit paths for a nice walk. Nice job Metroparks!!
A gorgeous, clean, and well appointed park on Lake Erie. This isn't a wilderness experience, but it's an incredible community park with awesome lakefront amenities.
