We have had to visit this hospital often for procedures and emergency care since it is one of the closest to our home. I personally have not had good experiences with Prisma as an adult but the children’s hospital has been good to us. They have a playground for the kids and toys in different departments which is helpful. Most of the staff we have interacted with have been professional and nice.
This magical Kingdom was right up our alley! The staff there are all Angels from above!! I thank them all! Dr. Uretzky Has been a blessing from beginning to end! We will have to be back for another procedure and I actually can’t wait! And thank you Ava for your sweetness and patience. Helping is probably part of the job, but you do it with grace!
My daughter stayed almost a month at the Children's hospital from April - May, between the PICU and "regular" rooms and I cannot say enough great things about the staff, especially those in the PICU. It takes a special person to be able to work in the PICU and they treated us like family. When we were moved from the PICU to a floor room, it was the same situation. Any question I had, it was answered with care and never got the feeling I was being rushed. I will forever be grateful to Prisma Health for saving my daughter!
This is the WORST PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CHILD...my daughter has had so many stays here and they have done so many test to only tell me nothing.....they don't listen to you as a parent. I ask them to do a particular test on her basically was told no...my suggestion was only taken bc it was order from another GI specialist.....my daughter also see the Outpatient careDr. Brooks they have YET sent my daughter referrals to E.N.T after they assured me they would but haven't now they are not answering the phones....if you're looking for pediatric team..GI or hospital PRISMA HEALTH ANYTHING IS A NOOOOOOO I SUGGEST YOU RUN...IM FOR SURE LOOKING TO CHANGE ANY AND ALL DOC FORGETto use better words prisma
Terrible. My child came to get his blood drawn for an allergy test and they lost his sample. Now my baby has to go through the discomfort all over again and my time off work was pointless.
I strongly dislike coming to this hospital and I can’t believe it’s the only children hospital in Columbia. Every-time I come here I have to wait 3 hours to get anything started with and another 2 hours just to get the information back to me. It’s extremely disappointing and god forbid my son has an urgent medical emergency cause idk what I would do.
I brought my husband here this morning at 8:00 am it’s now 11:35 pm and we are still in the emergency room !!! I have never seen anything like this in my life if I can help it I will never ever come here again ! We have Tricare for life and Medicare don’t understand it . People call out for help ! This is a shame!! My husband spend 30 years in the Army to come here and be treated like this!!!!
This place is horrible and should NOT specialize in children. They are inconsistent. You wait for hours just for them to tell you nothing. My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last year and was hospitalized. One of the worst days of my life. There were doctors who were not on the same page, nurses not fully trained, rooms nasty etc. They did not know how to calculate and properly give my baby insulin. When I complained the lead nurse said they don’t have time to train. Fast forward I had my baby at this same hospital and they treated me like trash in labor and delivery. Now we’re here again with my daughter and the doctor is clueless. She has been here suffering for over 3 hours and he doesn’t even know if he can give her insulin or not. So many complaints and No one seems to care. I speak for everyone’s child, we need a change at this hospital. Too many babies are not being treated properly at the hands
Take your kids to another E.R, my wife and son along with myself had a horrible experience 2 nights ago here. Took my 10 month old in for fever of 102 a long with other symptoms, we were in the waiting room for 3 hours from 12:30-3:30 with only a handful of children ahead of us. We finally get back into a room and waited longer only to see someone from accounting informing us about the Room Charge before we even seen a doctor. Again we waited even long for the doctor for the only time for the rest of the night for 5-10 minutes. Never told us what he planned to do for testing, nurses that came in never gave us names and had an attitude when we told them we weren't informed on what was happening or why. After the trauma inducing event for our baby and my wife, that ended up all for nothing because they couldn't get a sample. We waited for results from a nose swab to test for cold/flu/COVID etc. We had to ask a nurse who probably wasn't even assigned to our room for the results. She was the only nurse we interacted with that showed any kind of care for us and my son Even so he had X-rays taken and were told we'd have results in about 30 mins to an hour, we waited another 2. At this point it's 7:00-7:30am, we never got the results or information and we decided if our baby was gonna be in pain and uncomfortable he'd be better off at home. When we left we told a nurse sitting at a desk we were leaving, wasn't asked why or showed any concern as to why parents would leave a medical environment early before their child was treated. I can guarantee I'll get a Bill for everything even though we walked out with absolutely no results and distrust for this place. Think twice about taking your loved ones here, we made the mistake of doing so.
This is the worst children's hospital I have ever been to. We were at this hospital for a total of 6 hours and 30min. I had to go up to the desk to see when my baby was going to be discharged after waiting 6 hours. They told me that some guy was writing up our discharge papers to find out Bridgette was bringing it with some medicine. I was told by Jennifer that they would send my son's medicine to the pharmacy and they never did. On top of that, I look at mychart to review what they put in there and I found a couple of things not true.
