In 1947, Rufus Keys Jr, after serving in the U. S. Navy, returned to Belton and wrote his first insurance policy. For a number of years he issued policies from his home and worked on a part time basis. In 1950 he opened an office and started the agency on a full time basis. In 1973 Marshall Keys joined the family business. In 1996 the Keys Insurance Agency became the sole owner of the Palmetto Insurance office in Belton. After graduating from Anderson University, in 2006, DuPre Keys joined the agency. In 2007 Brooks Keys became associated with the family insurance agency after a tenure in the manufacturing industry. We are very proud that the Keys Insurance Agency is to this day completely locally owned and operated.
