Horribly managed E.R. Department. My wifes wrist was broken. Hours of waiting in the 50 degree waiting room. The nurse said they didnt have ice for her wrist in the E.R. they only have it upstairs. Finally she was taken to radiology for xray, then back to the waiting room for hours more.
DON’T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! Worst experience of my life! I brought a friend in that broke both his arms and one was sticking out the skin. They made us wait a fill out paper work that took half an hour. Before they would even start to ask him questions let alone be seen!!! An the ER was empty so why the wait???!!!!!!
Palo Verde Hospital is hit and miss. Sometimes you'll get great service and be in and out within an hour or two but then you'll get those visits are just horrible and ridiculous. We usually go to Parker, AZ or even to Palm Desert, it's actually faster than sitting in the waiting room for 5 hours. You'll usually be home and in bed by the time you would've been discharged from PVH. I've seen a complaint above regarding inmates and Correctional Officers always in there. People don't understand that PVH has a contract with the 2 prisons here for basic issues otherwise, their flown out to Palm Desert for more serious issues, and without that, the place would probably be closed down. Something mediocre is better than having nothing.
Very rude I call the ambulance for my son they bring him to hospital and get him out of the ambulance and made him walk into the Emergency room waiting room and just leave him there nobody even came out to check him until his son got up and said something and then the doctor come out to look at him the doctor took him back in a wheelchair Iwaited about 2 hours then I asked the lady in the back how he was she said she didn't know but she would check but she never did and still haven't told me anything 3 hours now .what kind of hospital is this they are very rude the just sit back there talking and laughing doing Nothing . And what really gets me is there is No one else in here to been seen. They just hang out in the emergency room talking like it's just some get together what a joke
It was pretty eye-opening to see a emergency room this small, but staffed very well. I was a little weirded out by the fact that I could hear what was going on with every other patient in the hospital. The doctor was on the phone, and or talking to the nurses about different diagnosis or prognosis, and I can hear everything. Remind me of when I was in the military. It didn't bother me, and I'm not that shy, I was there for a good reason, and I wasn't bothered by the fact that others in the eight bed emergency room knew that I was there or heard about my condition or what I was going through. I imagine some people are, but if you want to live, they're the closest game to Quartzsite, Arizona. The next hospital closer is Parker Arizona about 65 mi away from quartzsite. The doctor was amazing! Age it was very surprising to see someone so old, that was so in tune and so wise and so experienced that he had wonderful bedside manners. Well I was there ambulance just pulled in and they had to shuffle people around, because both separate ambulances had people coding. It was quite exciting to watch, exciting in the scary sense. The nurses were wonderful except for the male nurse that was complaining and slamming things because he was tired of taking care of a patient that have been there for 2 days. At one point he said out loud that he cannot wait to go work at a real emergency room or hospital or something like that. Very embarrassing for the doctor, he was sitting right next to him when he expressed those feelings out loud for everyone to hear. Kind of a taller fella, RN, maybe early 30s, doesn't really need to be nursing. He needs to be working a welder or doing security at stadium. His attitude was horrible, if it wasn't for the phenomenal experience with the doctor, I would have probably given them two stars. Just because that RN was so rude to the very ale 70 something year old in the bed next to me, and the way he huffed and puffed about not being able to transfer another disabled patient in the bed across from me out of their emergency room, because the doctor at the transfer facility decided to refuse to accept the other patient in bed 3. I know his name, but I feel like if he reads this review he'll know it what I'm talking about. And maybe he'll think about taking some yoga or transcendental meditation. Don't get me wrong, he was nice to me, but he had no patience for the elderly and or mentally ill. The female nurses were phenomenal. The doctor is doing gods work. I wish him good health. Thank you for giving me a thumbs up on my reviews.
Waited for 4 hours before they could call us back for triage . Then another hour for an X-ray! Doctor was great and read it quickly. The nurse at the front had the WORST customer service skills!! She was rude to everyone who went up to ask a question. She did not help anyone she gave all 3 of us in the waiting room an excuse but never could answer a question or solve a problem. The RN who took us into triage could not even spell as she typed in with one finger at a time. I helped her to spell. It was a very sad situation inside the office area. Whoever is running this section of the hospital needs to do some serious revamping of the ER. Again, doctor was great… nurses and other staff need HELP!!!!!! I highly suggest driving to another facility if your emergency allows it!!
I came by ambulance to Palo Verde Hospital after a serious roll over accident. I would have gotten better care if I had stayed in my upside down burning car. Not only was I there for hours before seeing a doctor but when I did the doctor did not even exam me, touch me or look at my cuts that I was complaining about, just ordered tests. When I asked for something for pain he said "what do you want me to give you". Seriously??? They wheeled me outside to a trailer, hoisted the gurney up to a tiny spot that barely fit the gurney. While waiting in the ER room there was no call button for a nurse so if you needed anything you either screamed for someone or just didn't get any service. Doctor comes back in and merely says "nothing is broken". Still complaining about the worst cuts and still no one has looked at them. Accident was at 10:30 a.m. on Hwy 95 heading to San Diego from Phoenix, discharged from hospital close to 6:00 p.m. Just before leaving the nurse FINALLY dabbed some hydrogen peroxide on some of the cuts, wrapped it in gauze and put a sling on my arm. Never did clean out wound or wipe dried blood off. Thank God I didn't have anything more serious. When I got to San Diego the wounds on my arm and elbow were getting worse and I continued to pick glass out of the my cuts on my hip which no one even looked at so I went to urgent care at Scripps. Not only were they infected and I needed antibiotics but finally I felt I was getting proper care. So happy I was able to see a real doctor in San Diego who cleaned out glass in my arm and gave me excellent medical care. Just pray you don't need emergency medical care if you are in the area of Palo Verde Hospital. I usually can always find something nice to say, and usually do, but in this case there really was not one positive things to say. I was lucky both because I was as blessed to come out of that accident alive but also because I didn't need any more care than I did. I feel worried and concerned if someone really needed care and had to come to Palo Verde Hospital.
Went in for treatment for high blood pressure. Entire staff was very nice and professional.
This hospital is a joke. Worthless staff and horrible service. No one was at the front desk for a while. I had to pound on the glass window to get someone's attention here. No sense of urgency at all.
Came in with a concussion after an accident on the I-10 like many others. They never collected my insurance information and released me with a concussion saying I was fine. Ended up having to get treated at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale for said concussion. Now, I'm receiving calls from a collection agency because they couldn't remember to get my insurance information. The team for Dr. Arko only held my account for 2 weeks before sending it to collections which is kinda messed up. The front desk lady was so absolutely rude to myself and another patient. I couldn't remember my information because I had a concussion and I felt rushed and uncomfortable.
