The stadium really need to have traffic control on the days games are scheduled. It is extremely hard to exit the stadium. People will see you backing out or trying to pull out and will ignore your vehicle. I always try to leave early to avoid this situation. Hopefully in the future a traffic control officer will be assigned.
Buck Godfrey Stadium is a jewel to the DeKalb County Community. Many moments for our youth are observed at this stadium. This was our visit for the Homecoming Game of South West DeKalb High School versus Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School. It was very memorable because our daughter Lauryn Moore , a Senior, was honored as Ms. FBLA, and our son Jacob Moore, a Junior, dominated as Middle Linebacker in a 52 - 0 South West DeKalb High School victory.
This is a Dekalb County Schools stadium with seating on one side, very exposed to the sun during the day, bring a hat and sunscreen. Snack stand has hamburgers and hot dogs, soft drinks. Parking lot is not very large.
Overall, a great experience. The staff was helpful. The stadium itself, along with the rest room was quite clean.
Love this place. Been coming here for bout 30yrs. To watch different events here. Now I'm watching my son play football here Decatur Bulldog. Bring back so many memories!!

The stairs and seating is steep and there are no safety rails which can pose a problems for seniors with mobility issues
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the game being played and the fans that came out to support the teams. I also remember the games that I played in there along with the other great games that was also played there.
Went for the Dekalb County track meet. The grass & grounds are nice. Plenty of seating. There wasn't enough parking for most at the front entrance. Had to park on the bottom lot & walk aways upstairs to the front entrance if you arrived after a certain time. Tickets were available online only. The company serving catered food was efficient & fast. The food was good & there was a nice variety for the crowd. It was cash or CashApp only.
This is not the prettiest place when you drive into the parking lot. But the facility is great. Run well, the more I come the more I like it. Shout out to the conssesion folks they do a great job with better food than most places of its kind.
