Experience overall was nice! Quaint & intimate space. The staff were really nice and explained my options well. I just thought that the creme inside would be a bit sweeter. It was more like a pudding or custard like texture. I did really like the matcha version. Maybe it was just the flavor combinations I chose? I grew up on Krispy Kreme, so my expectations may have been a bit different. Cute concept tho!
I enjoyed the cookies and cream puff! The server was super nice and showed us all the flavor option. I thought the green tea would be a little sweeter but it tasted more bland. I would definitely try different flavors next time.
Beard Papa's is one of the best dessert places in Charlotte! I've had limited experience with cream puffs, but these are the best I've ever had. They have a good selection of flavors, and I recommend the green tea or matcha cream puffs. They were very flavorful but not to sweet. If you're in the south end area, I highly recommend this place!
We got to try out Beard Papa’s today for our first time. We were pretty impressed how good these puffs were. They were not too sweet at all which was perfect. We got all vanilla fillings and they had chocolate to offer as well. I’m hoping they offer more flavors soon for fillings. They had a good amount of shells to offer. I wish they had a strawberry one that I saw on the main website but maybe one day! The filling was really light too so it didn’t feel heavy which was great. This location isn’t huge inside but it does offer a couple tables to sit at. Be prepared to eat this outside and have a lot of napkins because they can get messy for sure! Customer service was good as well. We were the only customers there at the time so it was nice we could just look at the puffs and not feel rushed. Overall, we enjoyed it and will be back. As an FYI the parking in Southend is tough so you can either parallel park on the side or park in the parking garage around the corner. Unfortunately you have to pay, but that’s how Southend parking is these days.

First time trying beard papa’s in Charlotte NC. Went during the day so it wasn’t busy. They had plenty of choices. I bought the churro and green tea. Both were delicious. They filled them right in front of me. They were full of flavor and fresh. My only negative is that they were very messy so make sure to get extra napkins. Would definitely go back and try other flavors.
Cream puff was fresh and cream taste amazing. I really loved their green tea puff with fillings. Highly recommend if ur looking for cream puffs!
Went on a Monday around 1pm, no line but parking was a bit challenging. Puffs were delicious. Right now, only vanilla filling is available for grand opening. They charge per puff, there is no set price for dozen or half dozen. There are no seats inside. Be sure to grab some napkins as you will want to eat as soon as you get in the car, and it gets messy.
Try the green tea! If you're new to matcha and are unsure if youll like it, this place does a great intro for you! You'll love it!
Super friendly staff and the puffs taste delicious! Every "sweet tooth's" dream at this spot. Small shop, but it's definitely a spot to stop by for some really good cream puffs. They have a variety of mixed sweet beverages and teas as well. Parking is limited, but there is a parking garage you can use.
