what to say about paradise? it rained the entire 2 weeks we were there but it was absolutely stunning and we loved it. gorgeous river/creek views. rich and cam are two of the most lovely people/camphosts we have ever met. its always entertaining to yell 'ahoy matey' to the rafters. great place to ride a bike or have a picnic near the boatramp when its not raining.
Beautiful, feels like you’re driving into a rainforest. So much greenery, the mossy trees are amazing. Site 51, great space for my two kids and dog. can connect to site 52 and we did as they were family. Close to potable water and vault toilet. River was an amazing sound machine. Was hard this to find someplace to dump, found hoodoo RV park.
Basically pretty campground but very dusty campsites. It would be nice if they put some gravel down.
Camp site 006 has a lovely view and easy access to water and the bathrooms. We stayed the weekend with two friends and there was enough room for a small tent, a large tent, and a Clam over the table. We were able to see rafters float down the river from the bank, but otherwise it's pretty private with the trees and underbrush. Wood from the Camp Host was $25 cash for 4 bundles.
Anyone got a recent photo of camp site #3 ????? I absolutely loved it here last summer, it it’s impossible to get any campsite at all for sure especially a waterfront one but traveling 4 hours we have to have something solid booked. I wish that the campsite photos could be posted and updated would make things so much easier for people like me traveling to get there, especially having a bunch of my sons with with me! And I didn’t care for the fact there is now showers we had to make something up omg lol it was horrible experience gotta figure something else out this summer any one know of showers near by?
Our most favorite place to camp. The River was so beautiful, with fish. Secluded, hosts were great, very clean, friendly people. It is aptly named, for it truly was Paradise, bringing solice to my soul .
Stayed at site 26, very private but it isn't river front. Still a great spot. The campground was well kept and bathrooms are open. You can hear logging trucks on weekday mornings starting around 6am.
Wonderful campground, along the McKenzie River. Many campsites are just by the river. Not that you can jump in water from there, yet views are awesome. One star less due to shower rooms not available. Otherwise, toilets were well maintained.
Yes it is a beautiful and clean campground. One concern relates to the logging across the river whose noise reverberates across the campground. The loggers start their horn signals at or before 0500 and continues throughout the day. Our 2 nights were interrupted at 0300 by their presumably blasting stumps. Needless to say, sleep was interrupted..but the biggest issue was the effect on our dog. We purposefully got out of town as the 4th was approaching to avoid fireworks, but to put us right in the middle of this situation. We had to lock him in the car. Not against the loggers at all!..they are doing honest, necessary and extremely dangerous work. But we feel campers should have advance notice via an Alert on Paradise Campground website of these activities while they are going on and the possible impact on campers for informed decisions. Secondly, we searched the entire campground, but could not find any recycling containers..only the large dumpsters where fearfully all trash and recycling were dumped --turning potential recycling into trash. Not having recycling at such a famous campground is shocking.
Amazingly beautiful campground along the McKenzie River. There is a very helpful and friendly manager on site, and with over 60 campsites, you are certain to find something to please. We stayed on a Wednesday night in June, and most spots were open. However, many are reservable and appeared booked for the upcoming weekend, so you may want to reserve ahead of time. We will definitely be back!
