Paradise Memorial Park is not the best maintained cemetery and it makes me a bit sad to see all the headstones that are buried in dirt, overgrown, or sunk into the ground. I have come here a few times to take photos for people who are out of state and it is always very difficult to find the headstones. Many reviews have indicated that bodies have been removed which complicates matters.
My husband was buried here in 1985. Within the next 10 years or so I noticed mounds of dirt and headstones that were leaning against a caretaker bungalow. In 1995 I heard on the news that they had been busted for removing bodies putting them in a mass grave. After this occurred the state took over the cemetery. This is nothing more than a potters field. If we all contact the state to really complain, maybe something can be done. Please look online to complain. This is such an old cemetery. The road inside is very narrow because cars were smaller in the 1920s. Not only did the people that were laid to rest here get the shafr by being displaced but now they are being disrespected once again by the state. I will make it my mission to help fix this in any way I can. But there is power in numbers. Everyone please help. I no longer live in California but that's my home state. It is the states responsibility as well as the ancestors of the deceased to make sure this place is kept up.
It's so disrespectful to see a love ones last resting place place look so neglected and unkept. Families paid for their love ones to be in a nice resting place . And all theses families desire way more respect than this ..... Fix it . Los Angeles ... Fix the plumbing Replace the trash bins . Pick up the trash dead leaves and pipes. Water the grass . Make a living garden. Hire a real gardener . Not on that will just run over the trash with a mower. Make this a beautiful resting place . Your customer service desire it. If you can before mother's day 2018 will be nice . If not .. please make your changes soon . This is not cool . And it should never be exceptable .
This place is clean and peaceful. Everything is green. They have people ready to answer any questions. They are doing a good job. Thankfully.
Yes that place was in shambles. The families need to get together and organize a meeting if they want things to change. I walked thru most of the graves are very old I even wonder if those same families live in the area? But it doesn't matter you would think the city of Santa Fe Springs or the LA county would take notice and do something about this. If they can spend millions on Metro lines or these updating of the pipes and sewer systems underground then they can repair these cemeteries and other places....there's money somewhere someone is JUST HOLDING OUT MY OPINION.
This cemetery is in shambles. My Auntie Rosetta was/is burried here in 76' or 77' & my brothers father was buried here in the late 80's. What the families need to do is get together & sue. No it won't bring back our loved ones but we need answers.
My Grandmother and my baby Cousin were buried here, my Grandmother in 66, and my Cousin in 75. We went to place flowers on their graves only to find out that my Grandmother had been moved, and the plot resold, and the place where my Cousin wasBabyland was no longer there. They had moved her body also.... no answers
I still haven't found my daddy. This place has cause so much heartache.. from 1995 to 2020 it still hurts. No answers, just gone. I haven't received a return phone call email nor a settlement, but who's to say money would ever settle sorrow.
Is this privately held land? Take a look at the satellite view, and the park directly to the east is in MUCH better shape than this cemetery. The disrespect to communities of color not only in this situation, but in ALL situations is a sad reality. What will we do about it?
My brother was buried here in 95 a few months later we where notified that he was no longer where we buried him, he supposedly is somewhere In the cementary but not the lot we purchased for him. We have never found out where he is or about any lawsuits.
