Make sure you don’t die here! My brother passed away in his apartment and they refused to give us access to his belongings unless we assumed financial responsibility for any damages due after his deposit. Once we refused to sign they immediately changed the locks to his door even though his rent was paid in full through the end of the month. On top of that the office manager, Betty brought all of her kids to work which in my opinion, isn’t very professional. I suggest changing your policy to allow grieving family members access to the items owned by their loved ones and find a daycare to provide a more professional, clean environment for people who come into the office. It’s hard enough losing a brother but Park Avenue Apartments has made this experience so much worse.
So far it's mediocre. I have not had to deal with bed bugs there has been one to many cockroaches. However, management and maintenance got on top of it as soon as I reported the issue. The old Manager's as far as I know are gone. I feel secure. And Betty the new office manager is Awesome and she cares. I would say if you have horrible credit, criminal record and rental history this is a good place to start fresh and get rid of your garbage from the past and let your real light shine threw...
The security guy needs to stop creeping on woman and children! Something needs to be done about it! He's weird to the guests, potential renters, and the renters that are there. Something has to be done!
I just wanna say a huge thanks to this place. I lived there for 2 years and since day one management, employees, security have been great. they treated me really good. I had to move because I got promoted for work and it was a long commute, otherwise I would still be living there. They have a good gym, game room, new laundry mat, restaurant there. Lots of parking. I would move back there if I move to my other stores in that area again : thanks Melanie, Brenda, security. I hope to see you all again soon
I have lived there for a year, and I think it's a good place to live if you need a fairly cheap and convince place to live. The only things bothered me are the smoke and monthly inspection. However, I knew all that already before signing the contract. Smoking issue actually fixed before i moved out. I was poor college student, and really busy on school and work. I just needed a place to sleep and rest. For less than or a little more than 400/month and include all utilities, it is a really good place to live even though size is small. I went home everyday like midnight or later, and I never had any security issue. Staffs were nice and really respected me.
I lived there for a year and water was brown most of the time, they were fixing pipelines above the bathroom, they broke a pipeline and gross dirty brown water flooded the bathroom, they cleaned up all the water but there was brown water damage everywhere in my stuff, had to throw away half my bathroom stuff, we asked them to lower the rent or reimburse me for the stuff that was damaged but they never did. I never had bedbugs but most of the apartments were infested with bedbugs and cockroaches, cockroaches, everywhere, they will leave you with the spray and you have to do it yourself to help but it doesn't do anything unless everyone vacates and bug bomb the entire complex. They raised the rent $50 because they said they could smell cat litter which I have a cat, it's gonna smell a bit like cat litter..that's part of why you pay a pet deposit not by raising the rent.. They raised the rent because I had my own cooler in the window, they will raise the rent for anything they can find. I was in a bigger studio and it was $400, my friend was in a way smaller studio than mine and they paid $450 for it. Not to mention drugs everywhere, I found a needle under the stairs in the hallway.. When I finally left, I left most of my stuff, my bed, couch, microwave, almost everything was filled with cockroaches and I had to start out with almost nothing in a new apartment, had to bug bomb my old and new apartment my new one so I knew there wasn't any left in my stuff. I moved and a week later realized I left a couple of important things, so I went back in and I went into the bathroom, the toilet, absolutely filled and piled with baby cockroaches, and there were still so so many running around... To this day Im still seeing spots or shadows that move and I'm paranoid it's a cockroach even though I know there isn't any in my new apartment. This place is horrible..if you really really need a place to stay for cheap go ahead, great money saver but get out as soon as you possibly can!
This apartment complex is infested with bugs. Cockroaches and bed bugs, if you move in you WILL have a bug problem. The staff that works security is amazing, super friendly. But the management and ownership of this building is pathetic, seriously. diamond J is a company of slum lords. Most of the people that live here are on financial assistance, have a drug problem, or are going to school. it’s taking advantage of government funding while at the same time walking a very fine line of what is considered livable conditions. this apartment complex is a rats nest, they remodel once a year to maintain the facade. In other words if you plan on moving in, bring some fans, some ear plugs, some tweaker repellent, and a feast to sacrifice to the cockroach gods, and don’t bring anything you don’t want to burn!
My rating is not about the apartment but the staff. when I first went to fill out an application melanie and pam seemed like they were annoyed I was applying. I need a place to stay so I really didn't care. I paid my application fee and provided all necessary paperwork. Never got a call back so i left several messages before deciding to go to them in person. There is no way to get in unless you are lucky and catch a tenant coming out. I knocked on the door and saw both pam and melanie in their office and not one of them came over to let me in so basically I just got ripped off for $30. I dont know about the quality of the apartments but based on the other reviews maybe it's for the best and I dodged a bullet.
The lady in the front office Melanie is very rude I went there for different reasons but am also in the process of looking for an apartment. It most definitely won't be with them. Pam is nice but it doesn't make up for Melanie's attitude.
Lived here for a year, they tried to lie and steal my deposit, lucky I recorded them doing the last run in on the apt. So I was one of the very lucky few. BED BUG AND COCKROACHES. I promise u. I don’t care how clean u are. U will have that problem. Tweaker central. I would rather live in a storage unit than live there. Please save urself the headache and go look some where else
