We had an absolutely fabulous experience with the ParkView. The setting and decor cannot be beat, there is no place like it. Right next to Audubon park and easy access to streetcar if you want to see more of the city. We felt so welcomed and supported with all our needs and questions. Folks were super welcoming of our preschooler, who can be intense, but we were never made to feel like she was a problem. She even got her own special drinks from the bar so she could feel included! Staff went above and beyond to help us figure things out, including moving rooms, finding a babysitter, recommendations on travel options and things to do. Plus the gilded perch bar is a fantastic option for relaxing at the end of the day!
My wife’s family booked the entire hotel for most of them to stay at during our wedding; we also used it as a spot to take photos and hang out before and after the wedding. The staff was mostly very accommodating of that and it was a beautiful space! They do keep the bar open to the public so keep that in mind if booking the entire hotel as some of us were not aware. I also had a chance to see several of the rooms and while they are certainly historic, they have been updated where it’s important such as comfortable beds, AC etc and the bathrooms look great. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 since we were promised the bar would stay open til 11, but it was closed upon our return around 10:30. That would be my one suggestion for improvement. Thanks to the Park View for accommodating all of us!
We had a great stay! Our room was perfect, outfitted with wonderful sheets and the mattress was very comfortable. The breakfast was hot and fresh, coffee was great I loved the brown sugar and chicory coffee, staff was friendly and accommodating and the adult beverages in the Peacock Lounge were very good! I enjoyed spending time on the front porch people watching and the streetcars passing. We will definitely return!
This charming guest house steps from Tulane and Loyola did not disappoint! The rooms are furnished with beautiful antiques, and Aiden at the bar makes a fabulous cocktail. He and his coworkers Evan and Emma went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible stay. Will absolutely be visiting again the next time I’m in town!Rooms: 5/5
My home for 6 days and 5 nights.. and truly felt like home.. but better. I felt like I was transported back to what my mind tells me historic New Orleans is all about. Leisurely nights on the porch sipping delicious drinks made by William best bartender ever!!He really knows his cocktails and made my son the most delicious mocktails while listening to the whir of fans, and the hum of the streetcar. The streetcar literally stops in front of the Parkview fmaking getting around a breeze. My son was taking a course at Tulane and it was a easy five minute walk to campus. Despite the historic vibe the rooms were appointed with every modern day convenience and the beds were divine. The breakfast which was included! consisted of both hot and cold items ranging from eggs Benedict to pancakes. When you check in you are given a token so your first drink is on the house. Each afternoon and evening a sampling of snacks are out for you to enjoy as well. If you are looking for room service, people who will carry your bags this is not the place. If you are looking to be transported to a different time, convenience, and comfort don’t hesitate to book! I will certainly stay here anytime I am back in NOLA.
New Orleans native who moved away 4 years ago and returns often. Have money to stay in 5star facilities and choose this one above all else. Ignore the 2star complaining morons whining about service and rude help. I know this venue well and the staff could not be friendlier or more helpful. Next to Audubon Park and on the streetcar line in old New Orleans. Squeaky clean and fabulous included breakfast. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Rooms: Glorious antiques and modern bathrooms Nearby activities: On the streetcar line and next to Audubon Park Safety: Very safe area of town Food & drinks: Great free breakfast and the bar is charming
We wanted to treat our parents to a special stay at this hotel. They left on day 2 of a 3 night stay due to the lack of hospitality. Yes the hotel is quaint and historical and the setting is beautiful. All of this is let down by the lacklustre staff at reception her feet never left the counter and the “breakfast” that takes self service to the next level. When asked multiple times for the basics including silverware the server replied “I’m tired” Such a shame that the team at this hotel do not represent this amazing place is.
I really enjoyed our weekend stay. The staff was friendly, location on the streetcar line gave us a great cheap tour of the Garden District and breakfast was great! Can’t wait to return!Hotel highlightsGreat view
Amazing historic hotel. Right on the corner of Audubon Park if you want to play golf. St Charles street car stops on the front steps. The bar and porch area are perfect for a happy hour drink. Rooms are very clean. Loved taking with the staff . Complimentary lemon water was a life saver . There’s no elevator so make sure you can handle the walk up a flight or two
Wow, my husband and I were so impressed with Park View Historic Hotel! We came for Fourth of July weekend to visit family and just had a wonderful time. The hotel seems to have been preserved very well and feels like walking into the past in terms of the decor. However, it still has modern day luxuries, like a TV and jetted bathtub. The room was so clean and well maintained, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was super delicious, and of course it's right across the street from a beautiful park. Because the hotel is on the smaller side, too, it feels much more warm and welcoming than your typical hotel. We would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity!
