Since 2000, Parkview Animal Hospital has been providing compassionate, thorough and professional veterinary care for small animals in Newton, IA and beyond.

Dr. Doug DeWolf, DVM and his staff offer a full range of veterinary services, including preventive health care, general animal surgery, dental care, geriatric care and the latest pain management techniques for your faithful companions.

We also offer veterinarian-supervised boarding for dogs, cats and other small pets. Our boarding includes outdoor exercise, special diets and lots of TLC. Early drop-off is available.

Dr Doug is so gentle with my fur baby, and genuinely cares. You can tell he really cares about the animal and their health, and isn't just about the money. My overall cost was less than just the exam fee at my previous vet, but I feel like the experience and care was so much better. I'll be going back to this office for all of my furry friends needs : Thank you doctor Doug!
Absolutely amazing. The doctor first I love and keeps it real about anything I need to do or watch for. The techs are so amazing. We also boarded a couple of times this last time a full week. Poor baby had anxiety but they helped her and I got so many photos to help ease my mind while I was away. 10/10 recommend to anyone.
The Dr and staff were absolutely phenomenal in the care of my fur babies! One of mine are very skittish of new people and doesn't like leaving the house in general and they made her feel safe and secure! 10/10 would definitely recommend thank you for taking of ivy and Freya
The price was unbeatable! My 8 year old baby Belgian malinois was very well looked after. He had his teeth cleaned and a growth on his gums removed. I called twice to check on him. The staff were amazing and made him and I feel very comfortable. He has anxiety away from me. The vet himself answered the phone the second time and told me that he was with my dog hanging out after the anesthesia was wearing off. I 100% recommend this office for your pet's healthcare needs.
We recently made our first appointment here. They made the process very easy and answered all of our questions. We live from out of town, and I was able to drop my cat off in the morning, go to work, and then pick him up in the afternoon. I can tell the staff really cares about animals and we will certainly be back for any other needs. Thank you!
I took my dog in for routine vaccinations and an allergy shot. I was greeted at the door by the doctor who is very friendly and kind. We were escorted to an exam room. The doctor and his assistant were very gentle with Abby. The appointment was quick and a very good experience! Kudos!!
We recently moved to newton and we never got the opportunity to choose a vet before having to make a very hard decision for our corgi. The amount of love, empathy, and kindness they showed to 2 strangers during an immensely difficult time cannot even be expressed. If we ever do get another fur baby we won't go anywhere but here.
This place Really loves animals, they went above and way beyond to help me find a home for a special little kitty this week, they fixed him up and showed him love. The day before I took him to another local vet that said he was to sick and my only option was to put him down, the wonderful staff at Parkview were not going to have that. Thank you so much.

My mom and I moved to Newton, Iowa from South Carolina because we had family there, we needed to find a vet for our 3 dogs. I had to take one and brought her to Parkview and she got a diagnosis of Diabetes, now you would think that he the vet would explain things but all he told us to do was give her so much insulin twice a day. I mean he should have sat down and explained more like what to feed her or what not to feed her. I know they knew we didn’t have a lot of money so maybe that is why but a year later my baby girl died from complications. Coming from the south the vets are a lot cheaper so yes I was stunned at the prices. So I would not recommend.
