Parkway Baptist Church

Description

Parkway Baptist Church meets in the heart of the historic Joyner neighborhood. We often joke among ourselves about the challenging location we have; in fact, our church building can only be seen by parents dropping children off to school or by those cutting through to Rob Leake Park. Because of our location, our church is one of the best-kept secrets in town, and we don’t want it to remain that way!

We want people to know where we are because God is doing some great things among our people. As a church, we’ve recently re-committed ourselves to carrying out the last words of Jesus upon this earth. Shortly before Jesus went to heaven to be with God He told His disciples, ”…you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). We interpret the words of Jesus to mean that we’re to go to people in our community, our state, our continent, and ultimately to every part of the world to tell of Christ’s salvation. Parkway Baptist Church has always been a missions-minded church; now we’re becoming more of a missions-active church. We’d love for you to come and join in our mission to let others know about Jesus.

We’d also love for you to join us as we grow in faith together. There is so much to learn about God and His plan for us as Christians. There are many opportunities for you to grow with other believers at Parkway. From age appropriate Bible study classes and marriage enrichment weekends to Bible-based sermons, ample opportunities abound for spiritual growth. Whether you’re a new Christian or a long-time convert, there’s a place for you in the growing process!

Finally, we’d love for you to come and experience our fellowship. Parkway is known to be one of the friendliest churches in the Lee County area. We take seriously Jesus’ command to “love one another.” We will go to every measure to ensure that you’re greeted and given directions and made to feel comfortable. And we’ll do all of those things because they just come naturally for us.

It’s a well-kept secret that there’s a church nestled away under huge oak trees in the Joyner neighborhood, but again, we don’t want it to remain that way. We want the secret to get out: “There’s a church who’s telling people about Christ, and growing in Christ, and loving one another in Christ…and we’re invited!”
