Parkway Schools Facebook Fan Comment Guidelines
Parkway Schools welcomes fan comments on its Facebook page as a means of sharing experiences, making suggestions or chiming in on educational issues or conversations.
Parkway’s Facebook page and fan comments are reviewed daily by the communications department. Fan comments provide value in that they promote conversation and two-way communication between the school district and the community we serve. Parkway staff will not edit fan comments. However, to ensure exchanges are informative and respectful of diverse viewpoints, staff may remove comments that are off-topic or unrelated to Parkway Schools.
Other fan comments that will be removed include:
• SPAM;
• Comments focused on selling a product or service;
• Personal attacks (disagreements are fine, but fans should refrain from engaging in personal attacks or being disrespectful of others); and
• Language (comments including but not limited to: profane or provocative language; hateful, racially or ethnically offensive or derogatory content; threats; obscene or sexually explicit language will be removed).
In the event a fan comment is removed, the communications department will notify the fan who posted it and remind her/him of these guidelines. Fans who violate them a second time will be blocked from Parkway’s Facebook page and may be reported to Facebook.
To ensure all students are capable, curious and confident learners who understand and respond to the challenges of an ever-changing world.
