This was our first time staying at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver, but I’m sure we will be back often. From check in to check out, our stay was exceptional. We arrived early, about 12:30 pm and went straight to check in. Not only was a room available right away, but we were offered a complimentary room upgrade. We stayed in room 1908 which had a great view of the water. Everything was so clean and well maintained. We really liked the decor in the room and the rest of the hotel as well. I highly recommend this hotel as a beautiful luxury hotel that exceeded all expectations! Now I need to find a reason to stay downtown again soon.
I've been to JW Marriott twice now and have been more than happy with my experience. The rooms are clean and well laid out, the furniture and bed is comfortable, and views are great. It's a central location for walking around town - wether to Davies street or China town - and good for biking or scooters to places farther out. The food met my needs and the menu was easy to order. I wish you could use your breakfast credits in the restaurants vs eating in your room - which isn't my favorite thing to do. There are more affordable options but not many come with this combination of quality of room, location, food and gym.
I gave this two stars because I love staying here. It’s a beautiful hotel and great location. However, it definitely wasn’t great when I woke up one morning at home and checked my email to see that I have a Folio emailed to me for apparently a 3 night stay and food. At first I thought it was a scam but when I looked into it, it seemed like a legit email. I soon realized that someone was able to check in under my name and profile with this hotel. It was a total violation of my privacy as it had all my information on it. The customer may have also received a paper copy of the Folio at the hotel as well. Luckily, there was no card on file that it was automatically charged to. It definitely raises the question if the hotel staff properly check ID during check in and if anyone can check in under someone else’s name. For all I know, the card that was used was fake and it’s now linked to my profile and address in their system. I contacted the hotel immediately and was told a manager would contact me but a week later and I haven’t received a call. I’m very surprised that I would be worried about a privacy violation with a prestigious, five star hotel.
I attempted to identify any positive aspects about this hotel, yet unfortunately, my efforts yielded no favorable outcomes. We made a reservation for a one-bedroom suite along with breakfast through Expedia at a rate of $150 each morning. However, upon arrival at the lobby for breakfast, we were informed that appointments were necessary to access the meal service. This requirement was unexpected, and then we booked an appointment and waited for 20 minutes, despite tables being unoccupied. After breakfast, we received a bill with $177.00. To our surprise, the front desk instructed us that we could only order one egg and one drink through room service, a detail that was not communicated to us in the room. After some back and forth, they eventually provided us with a printed list indicating our breakfast cost as only $24.00, although they had initially pre-charged us $150 in addition for breakfast. Furthermore, the hotel underwent renovations that were carried out after 10:30 pm, an inconvenience that defies imagination. Our attempts to contact the front desk yielded no response. Moreover, while a self parking fee of $15.00 per day was indicated, our bill presented a charge of $50.00 per day. This hotel is having multiple issues that require resolution; their pricing structure does not align with reality, resulting in additional, unanticipated charges. Moreover, the swimming pool was consistently inaccessible due to it being locked. It is imperative not to place faith in their website, and I strongly recommend against making reservations with this establishment. My trip was marred by a profound sense of disappointment.
The staff at this hotel went above and beyond. We had a mix up upon arrival and was booked into an already occupied room. When we notified the hotel they upgraded gave us a hotel food/drink credit and sent up the most beautiful charcuterie board as we were there for an anniversary. Absolutely blown away with the costumer service. Even had the managers meet with us to apologize for the mix up. The hotel was beautiful as were the rooms! Will absolutely be staying here again. Great job I will never forget how wonderful the staff was at this hotel.
The room suite was beautifully appointed, and a very comfortable space to take some quiet downtime. Super clean and comfortable. But I must reserve a special mention for each and every staff member. Without exception, whether in the lobby, at the curb, the concierge, floor staff, wait staff in the restaurant or on the conference floor, or cleaning staff in the gym - I was met with courtesy, a warm, sincere smile, an offer of assistance. This included one who interrupted what he was doing and accompanied to a different floor to ensure my key would work. I can't say enough about the culture of this hotel that creates such consistent service on the part of their staff.
The room was clean and spacious single room King and what would be expected at a JW. It was a very comfortable stay. Service was quick, efficient and polite, unobtrusive. Some complications trying to find the drive entrance, and noise during the day can be heard in the room but if you plan on being out most of the day it shouldn't be a concern.
This is an amazing hotel, the location is very nice because you have the downtown near the hotel and is a very nice zone. The service and the rooms were also incredible. Since the first day all the service and the hotel in general was amazing. I totally recommend staying here if you go to Vancouver. Rooms: The rooms were very clean and big, I enjoyed the shower.
Rooms were just 4-Star hotel rooms with slight perks such as comfier beds, a bigger bed, and slightly more expensive lotion and shop. The problems are that the shower doors don't have a hinge, making them easy to move when your showering and therefore, spilling water out. The second problem is with the bathroom doors. You can't lock them, meaning someone might walk in on you using the toilet. I don't have much to say about service, because I didn't really need service. Location was average, like most other hotels. The 1 complaint that I have though, like most other 5 star hotels, is the price. If you have the money then go to this hotel, but most of the time, it's just better off going to 4 star hotels.
We had our wedding reception and celebrations at the Fairview Ballroom and surrounding area at Parq back in November 2022. Leading up to the big day, the staff were great and awesome to work with! There were a few instances where e-mail replies took a bit longer than desired, but was understandable considering the frequency of events the hotel had. That said, contracting, site visits, meal tasting, and Q&A sessions were smooth sailing and the events team were accommodating, receptive, and so easy to work with for our custom menu! On the big day, the Event's team was on point throughout and made sure everyone and everything was taken care of. Food was delicious, the venue was pristine, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming! They even saved portions of each of our dishes and desserts for a "day after" brunch and brought them to our room when we woke up. Oh, and the room we were given for our stay was amazing! As expected, there is a bit of a premium being a JW Marriott branded property, but it was well worth the cost!
