Tax and Bankruptcy Law
My name is Paul Tom. I am a tax attorney with more than 25 years experience in resolving individual tax and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) problems. I have represented taxpayers in state and IRS tax matters throughout the country. In my law practice, I concentrate on taxpayer rights and taxpayer defense. In over 30 + years as a tax attorney, I have helped hundreds of taxpayers solve difficult IRS and state tax problems. I know from my experience as a lawyer that there is not such thing as a hopeless tax problem!!
As part of my tax practice, I have assisted many hundreds of taxpayers with IRS Offers in Compromise, IRS Audits, IRS Appeals, IRS Collection Due Process Appeals, IRS Innocent Spouse Requests, IRS Audit Reconsideration Requests, IRS Penalty Abatement Requests, IRS Payment Plans, IRS Negotiations, IRS Levy, IRS Fraud Cases, United States Tax Court cases, and bankruptcy tax discharge issues. Help is a phone call away.
My practice isn’t just limited to helping people solve tax problems. I also help hundreds of individuals and small businesses solve their debt problems through bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is a federal law which allows honest debtors to discharge most debts and get a debt-free fresh start.
Bankruptcy won’t fix some debt problems. Alimony, child support, criminal fines, recent tax debts, most student loans and debts secured by property (mortgages, car loans, furniture loans, etc.) are not discharged in bankruptcy. Most unsecured consumer debts like medical expenses, credit card debts, repossessions, and judgments are discharged in bankruptcy.
