The W. 11th location is right on the bike path and very easy to get to. The mechanics here are excellent and always willing to help out with minor repairs while you wait, and almost any kind of work has a quick turnaround time. No overcharges and they throw in extras for you because they care. Tip well, because this is the best bike shop in town.
I have dealt with this store twice. The first time, I was absolutely impressed. However, due to the experience I just had with them I will NEVER take another bike to them again. I recently purchased a road bike from a friend. I needed a very minor addition to it put on. I have a race coming up this weekend so I took it to them on Tuesday. I was told that the part had to be sent over from another location and that if it didn't fit, another one would have to be ordered but that either way they would call me that afternoon to let me know. The afternoon came and went- no call. I called on Wednesday just to check in as I need the bike complete by Friday for my Saturday ride, I was told again that the part was coming over from the other location and that it would be "no problem to have it ready by Friday". Today is Friday. It's after 3. I just called again to check the status of the bike. First they couldn't even find my bike. Then I was told that my repair never got "written up" and they'd have to figure out where my bike even was. After being disconnected and having to call them back, I was told that they wouldn't have time to do it for me. I was upset as it is now Friday, I need the bike for a ride TOMORROW that I paid $70 to ride in. When I voiced my frustration as to why was I told it would be ready if they hand't even started it yet, I was told by the employee on the phone that "I have no control over what someone else told you 4 days ago" in a very rude, condescending tone. I'm sorry my business is so off putting to this establishment. Had I known that they couldn't work on my bike this week I would have taken it elsewhere. Now I have exactly ONE evening to figure out what I am going to ride for a race that I have to leave for a 7 AM tomorrow morning. VERY disappointing. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone.
my favorite bicycle shop in eugene... the road specific shop, the one on w11th, the commuting shop on 5th. the staff has always been helpful over the years.
