Just walked by this cafe by chance. I dont generally love pies that much, but this was a very fun experience. we tried two different pies, one with leek and chicken, and the other was Kangaroo. I liked them both. The pastry was just done perfectly, and the stew inside was delicious. I am curious to go try more flavors!
My first time trying these cute delicious mini pies! So many different and tasty flavours available, best option for brunch or small bites. Chicken mushroom and butter chicken were fabulous! Inside is clean and nice. Staff are super friendly and welcoming.
Hidden gem! We tried their Rise + Shine and butter chicken pie along with flat white. It was delicious. Tried Australian pies for the first time and loved them. Definitely a must try.
We tride 4 different types of pies. It was our second time. I recommend The Hopper kangaroo meat, Chunky Steak & Mushroom, Steak Bacon & Cheese. Butter Chicken was very spicy for us.
Simple concept and excellent execution. The pies are really great on their own. Adding the peak makes it more of a meal, but it takes something away from the pie because the excellent flaky pastry gets drowned by the mashed potatoes and gravy and it all turns to mush when you eat it. But it's still really good mush.
We ate two representative menus, pie and beer. The taste was very ordinary. if you are just a little hungry, it is suitable to fill your hunger in moderation. For Koreans, the slightly watery texture may not fit well.
Love this place! This is the only place I know of in Vancouver that does Australian food which is very cool. They have many choices for meat pies but also a few great options for vegetarians - the vegetarian Mentil Lentil pie and vegan Vegetable Medley pie had this one at the other location but the experience at both seems consistent are both delicious and hearty. Although the pies are premade and heated when you order, they taste fresh and flakey out of the oven. The pies are definitely the highlight, but the desserts aren't bad. The miningtons are a great light dessert with a lovely balance between the thin chocolate coating and fluffy sponge cake. The other dessert I've tried, the vanilla slice, is one of those desserts that's just indulgently sweet, but that was what my heart desired when I ordered, so I was happy with it. I haven't tried the espresso drinks because they don't have decaf, but I'm happy with their teas - the chai latte and London fog are very good even if they're a little on the sweet side for my taste. The prices are fair, certainly cheaper than the same meal would likely be at a full-service restaurant, but pretty much just as good.
Tried this place for the first time and was not disappointed! We tried the chicken mushroom leeks and the butter chicken pies, and both were phenomenal! Really flavorful! Will definitely be coming back!
A nice little surprise in Vancouver. Definitely recommend! Personally I’ve never had takeout pies before, but I will definitely have these. We ordered the Steak and Mushroom pie and it was very pleasant. The crust was flaky and seasoned, the mushrooms and steak weren’t mushy, the GRAVY was the highlight of the meal. I could eat anything with that gravy. They had lots of options for pies, and even to add things like mashed potatoes or peas to fully load the meal. The portion for me was more appetizer like, so if you’re looking for a full meal, either fully load it or get one or more pies! Definitely a place I will go back to.
Had to check out one of the only places in Vancouver that sells savory pies like back home in New Zealand. This place offers Australian pie fares but close enough for someone craving an actual meat pie. I ordered the Steak, bacon and cheese pie which costed me $9.92 canadian with tax included. The pie was nicely presented by scorching hot on the inside. Had to give it a few minutes for the pie to cool a bit. The chunks of steak were good, the gravy was tasty and the pastry light and crispy. I think the gravy needed to be a tad thicker as it was slightly thinner than to what I'm use to. Overall a satisfying placeholder until I get home. I wish I did try their breakfast pie. Next time when I'm in Vancouver.
