Nice big park! Great place for frisbee golf and walking your dogs. Also has a pretty big playground for little kids. We were there in the winter so there were no leaves on the pecan trees but it was still nice
It was a little hard to give this four stars. Only because I'm a bit sour about the parking. I had to wait around for a parking place and when my daughter and I finally walked to the park there was only 3 other kids there... and the parking lot was FULL. It hit me that SFA students park there for free to walk to their classes. But, certainly not fair to families who actually want to go out and make memories. As for the ACTUAL park. It was very clean, no liter, and a lot of the play area is shaded. They also have really nice double swings so parents can swing with their little ones. It was a fun experience all in all.
The playground looks like a lot of fun. I almost wish I could be little again. The restrooms looked closed with only one available portable toilet for the public. We came here for a walk so we did not stay long. This is a great spot to get on the trails. We found the trails to be well marked and diverse. One way took us on a wooded path the other way took us across the street to the SFA campus gardens with art work.
My family and I meet there often. There's a safe clean family atmosphere. Kids playground if nice. Disk golf course there but not in way. Plenty of walking paths. Porta potties and a water faucet by shelter.
Love to walk here. Great for everyone if any age. Family outings, picnic, bring my pets. Play all kind of games. Always kept up. Can't imagine how they do it. Close to the college. Plenty of places to rest. Playground equipment is really nice for the kids.
Beautiful park! They have a great playground for smaller children. However, the past few times I have been here trash is over flowing in the 2 garbage cans next to the pavilion. This overflow trash can then be found on the playground areas.
Great park and playground.
They have some new attractions for the kids to play on! I love the new swings that a parent can actually swing with their baby sitting in front of them in their own swing facing them! Parents with a baby that can sit up on their own have got to check this swing out! I wish I had taken a pic of it.
This has always been one of my favorite parks in this city. It's big, it has a nice playground, and lots of open fields. My favorite thing though, is it's history. The park was formerly a pecan orchard, and most of the trees have been left. They not only provide shade all day, but during pecan harvesting season the ground is littered with fresh, ripe pecans that fall off the trees.
I haven't actually been to the playgrounds. I use this site to access the LaNana Creek Trail. It's a beautiful, woodsy trail following the path of the creek. Not really a place for a mindless walk; you have to pay attention to where you're walking so you don't trip on a root. Update: I made it to the playgrounds at night and played on the swings. They are very good sized swings for a children's playground. Six of them, I think, and another disabled friendly one, and two picnic tables on the wood chip playground.
