Reviewing to help other families with transparency for what to expect here. Our consult went well and we liked the PA we saw in mid- December. We got the call we were waiting for to schedule my son's ear tube surgery and they are booked out for FOUR MONTHS! we could not get on the schedule before the end of APRIL. Hopefully this helps other families as we wish we would have been told this before our consult.
After going to different facilities this place has make me feel like home they took great care of my son and make sure they answer all questions that I had. They make sure my son had a great experience mind you he is afraid of doctors. Dr. Thomsen did a great job and him team was amazing. The front staff was very respectful, I can see their top priority is the patients and making sure everyone is safe while in office.
Really disappointed with my experience. My son needed an appointment for a speech delay and this practice was recommended by Babies Can’t Wait. I called and they took my insurance over the phone, along with all other info. I figured everything was good to go. We got there for our appointment and waited about 20 minutes in the waiting area when they called me up to the desk. They told me that our insurance was out of network and that it would be $500+ for a hearing evaluation. What a waste of my time!!! Maybe your staff should verify insurance before people waste 2+ hours of their time.
We went in for office visit and loved our MD, but the communication with this company is not their at all. Some of the staff for the normal appointments are good but the other half don’t communicate real well and don’t know what their talking about as my child as never been too our facility before and we have spelled our child’s name many times the correct way. We have moved to a different ent company as a result. Then surgery schedule is bad with knowing what a voice mail is and how to return a phone phone let alone pull up a chart and can’t figure out anything.
The Dr and Staff are amazing. However the schedulers for surgery are horrible I’ve been calling for a month to schedule my sons surgery. I finally received a Call back from Brittany last week. The manger Tameka chit pulled on the call because I told Brittany I’ve been calling for a month they stated they were gonna pull the voicemails and find out what happened. She promised she would look at the schedule and call back that was wedensday last week. Still no follow up call and today my son has another ear infection!! I’m not confident in them performing his surgery due to the lack of communication. I’ve called, my husband and my Pediatrician called still no luck and I get staffing is terrible but a month to schedule surgery is ridiculous. We will not be returning. The reviews were absolutely correct terrible communication take your child somewhere else
We stayed with this office after my daughter experienced seizures/was hospitalized from ear infections and we were seen at CHOA by one of their doctors. But we will be leaving this practice. The surgery was smooth and we've had no complications but my daughter is just a number here. The practice is too large to appropriately care for their patients in a caring manner. The office staff are horrible and any time I had to deal with someone over the phone or even behind the desk they were rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and demeaning to me as a concerned parent. Do not take your child here. Find a better practice. My daughter's ENT Doctor Dr. B has since left, and I can only imagine the reasons why. We will be leaving too.
The employees at the front desk when checking in at the location and doctors are great BUT if you need to reach them for any reason it is impossible. I understood two prescriptions would be called in for my son. I called the following day to check to make sure they had the correct pharmacy since CVS never received the order after 3 days the order got called in but never received a call back from anyone. Then a week later two more prescriptions were called in, one being a eczema cream My son had an ear infection! and another ear drop!?! I tried calling again to talk to the nurse but it has been a week and I haven't received a call from anyone. Very frustrated and will not be back to this practice.
I am very anxious about my daughter’s upcoming surgery. This will be our 2nd child receiving tubes, but our first at PENTA and our first experience with adenoid shaving with tubes. Just like the reviews before mine, getting the surgery scheduler to return our voicemail is just about impossible. I am not ignorant to the fact we are in a staffing crisis, with the medical field being an industry highly impacted; however, being a working professional who interface with consumers all day long, it’s our job to return all communication in a timely fashion. At a minimum, acknowledge my voicemail/email by letting me know you received it and will return my call/email by “xyz date”. The email confirmation was less than professional and both my husband and I felt it read like a phishing scam with grammatical and punctuation errors. You can see where they copied and pasted our specifics, but you’re telling me that took 3 weeks, 5 voicemails, and a conversation with the doctor’s assistant to get that email?! It doesn’t make me feel confident that PENTA has my child’s best interest in mind. It was also eye opening when the NP at the 1st appointment confessed that a lot of the doctors are leaving the practice. At the moment I was confused why she would so freely tell me that, but if my experience, and the reviews of others aren’t an indication… I don’t know what is. Overall, my issues are with the scheduler and the timeliness and professionalism in which things are handled. I pray our surgery and the doctor, who we haven’t met and won’t meet until the day of surgery, is a better experience.
I've been coming here for over four years. Because of my daughter's diagnosis sometimes I would go every other week. In the past year the practice has deteriorated to some of the worst service I've ever recieved. I left the practice. I drive from Brookhaven to Kennesaw monthly to go to Wellstar ENT so my daughter can receive proper care. I still end up saving time driving to Kennesaw vs. going to PENTA Scottish Rite 7 minutes from my house. There are certain services Wellstar cannot provide so I'm forced to come back to PENTA twice a year. I dread these appointments, honestly it makes me feel sick because I never know what's going to happen when I get there. The front staff is incredibly rude, I try to speak to them as little as possible. It is hard to believe that the physicians own this practice. It is not owned by a large corporation.
Horrible customer service. The people that make appointments are awful. They don’t accept newborns until the insurance has been confirmed in the policy. Insurance only confirms newborn after they receive the birth certificate which takes a few weeks. So basically they don’t take newborns. Clearly they are all about the money. Luckily there are other good ENT’s around so we can avoid these no good money grabbers. Parents don’t go here.
