Camp ground was amazing! Very peaceful very clean. By far the cleanest bathrooms and showers I’ve seen at a camp ground! New owner is super friendly and sounds like he has nothing but good plans to improve the place I can’t wait to see! The fire free wood is awesome as well can’t wait to return next year!Rooms: 5/5
We’re new to the RV world and stayed here on our second night. The online reservation system is super easy to use. The only down side is the lots aren’t labeled, just the power boxes which can be hard to see at night. There’s no office, but the camp host was a great resource with the issues we had. Cell service at the site is spotty and there’s no wifi
New owners as of May 31st. Very nice young couple following their dream. Extremely nice, helpful and pleasant. They have some work to do some ideas in the plans. Will have to return again to see their progress.Service: 5/5
Two of the best days and nights of our 2 week road trip thru WV and Tennessee were spent right here at Pegasus Farm and in Zen 1. My girlfriend was a bit questionable of my choice for us to sleep in a bus two nights, however her reservations about the idea quickly changed after she saw the bus. The super clean shower house won her over as well. And of course, the absolutely super cool hosts Mark and Bonnie made it an experience we'll never forget. We feel we have two new friends in West Virginia!
We were slated to stay at this campground and I was truly looking forward to the quiet. The road going in is very narrow as they state. I have no idea how a class A would make it through though. We have a 4x4 camper van. The campground host greeted us as we arrived. However, when my husband asked the host about the bathrooms / showers we were simply told they were inoperable. Every campground I reserve with MUST have a bathhouse. It is advertised on their site. I chose it because of this. Apparently, they have been inoperable for awhile. We were not informed of that at any point prior nor did the host tell us that until my husband asked. With a young child in tow, we decided after driving hours to get there that we had to leave. Very disappointed because the site itself would have been nice I think.
My husband and I have been coming back to Randolph County for several years. Monongahela has our hearts and we love it here. This was our first trip to Pegasus Farm. We typically set up at a campground for the hook ups while we traverse the mountains in hopes for a secluded, off-grid, dispersed camping experience. We want ultimate privacy and relaxation. We only chose Pegasus Farm because it was available and the place we had stayed at before was full. From before we even left our house in Virginia, we had our first amazing experience. Mark called just to see how we were doing on the trip since the weather wasn't the greatest. The weather delayed our trip so much that we didn't get into Elkins until 3 AM. Mark and Bonnie had texted to advise we should stay at the Walmart parking lot until daylight since the rain caused standing water and it is completely pitch black at Pegasus Farm. We took their advice and Mark drove over in the morning to meet us so we could follow him back to the campground. This is hospitality I have never seen from a campground host. On our first day, we excitedly shared our plans for dispersed camping. Mark hinted that he expected our plans would change and we would stay. I thought he was crazy. Nothing was keeping me from my boondocking paradise that I had been waiting for. We are still here. I wish I could meet whoever wrote the previous review about the shower house being closed and the Wi-Fi...because...how is YOUR mistake a reason to tank the reviews for this place? There is a full welcome packet unlike any KOA you would stay at with all of the information you could ever want to know about this place. Thousands of people are here for festivals every year but they are the only people who didn't know ANYTHING about the place before they came. It's beautiful, it's clean, and it's closed for now. So, just like the instructions say, bring your own bathroom or don't come. If you are looking for anything other than a beautiful campground, you may not be happy here. If you are a high maintenance traveler with a lot of needs, this may not be your kinda pace. Also, if you are a Karen, just stay home. No one likes you, Karen. Yes, I'm talking to the idiot who left the most recent review on TripAdvisor. I don't understand how you can come here and not realize how special it is. This place has been crafted by Mark and Bonnie. They spent their lives pouring love into the most perfect property in West Virginia. We loved it so much, we had our friend and his family fly from PA into Elkins-Randolph airport next door so they could see the place that stole our hearts and made us want to stay forever. We are home.
Super friendly staff. Full hook ups.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed at Pegasus Farm Campground last week and it is the best campground I have stayed at. It is very quiet and peaceful and very well kept up. The shower house is very clean The drive into the campground may be a little narrow for larger campers but it is a beautiful drive in. We were running a little late to check in and Mark called to check on us, which I thought was great. Most campgrounds you are just someone renting a spot but Mark really cares about his guests. Will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great visit.
Very nice campground! Great hosts, very personable and helpful.
Was here for a private event. The land was clean and lovely and the bath house was the cleanest I've ever been in, I think! The hot water ran out by the time I got to shower, but I felt lucky to get a shower in the middle of a week in the woods! Beautiful views of the mountains around the property and I felt like we were in our own little oasis despite being close to town. Can't wait to get to come back for another event here!
