A Community Garden located on the University of Pennsylvania Campus
The Penn Community Garden is a raised-bed organic garden located between Rodin College House and 40th Street field. Founded as a Green Fund project by a group of undergraduates in 2009, the garden serves as a shared educational space for the Penn and West Philadelphia communities. Participants learn about and explore organic agriculture, sustainable food production, and the botany of urban ecosystems. Open work-days are held every week during the summer months, and a variety of events, workshops, and gatherings are hosting during the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
The Penn Community Garden is always looking for Penn Community members to get involved! Whether you are hoping to volunteer for a few hours or for a whole season, there is a place for you at the garden. We welcome organizations, offices, and student groups to inquire about setting up a volunteer session or workshop.
