The Pennwood Motor Lodge is a Great place to stay. Fantastic location, huge swimming pool, large pavilion to grill out under. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Kim and Katrina always make sure that we enjoy ourselves while we are there. The rooms might not be the fanciest but they are always clean and have everything that you need. There is also plenty of parking space if you want to bring a boat. The hotel is pet friend with plenty of room for you to walk your dog which is a huge added bonus. We visit there every chance we get. It truly is a great price to stay and you definitely can’t beat the price!
This place is a blast from the past of the old motor lodges! The rooms have been redone & ours was immaculate - as clean as could be. Some fixtures were older but everything worked without a problem & the bed was very comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay again. If you’re looking for 5 star level, this isn’t for you. But if you can appreciate history & charm, you’ll love it! Photos are of the lodge in its heyday that were on the wall in our room.
My daughter and I just happened on to this little peice of paradise. We started out in a hotel downtown Melbourne. Almost 3 times more price. Very nice place. But it was party central. Not the place to stay with my child. Went to find another hotel closer to Sebastián. There was one other hotel in the area. The other 1 was packed full and not very well lit. So Generally wouldn't stay in this type of Lodge. Honestly was kinda worried . But what absolute surprise. From the moment we stepped to the front desk. We feel in love . Great customer service. Clean and beautiful pool. The weekend house keeper was very nice and made sure all the guests knew we were welcome and valued. We stayed extra days. Definitely will be back. Thanks for a great experience..
A surprise charge of $50 for a small pet. No charge last year and no notice on website or booking. After paying in full days in advance I arrived to find this outragious charge that you have no recourse but to pay them or lose your room and all payments. Red Roof Inn and Motel6 often better quality charge nothing and welcome pets. Never again to the deception/trickery at Pennwood. Noteworthy details: Surprise charges
I love this old-school lodge. Every time we drive by I tell my husband how much I love it. If I had the money, I'd buy it and turn it into the coolest Reunion Resort EVER. I'd have the place filled every weekend with families and old college buddies. There's a covered patio with tables and a grill. A nice pool. Plenty of room for everyone to gather. Dear Pennwood Owner: Paint your sign with BRIGHT Beachy colors - changing the name to The Reunion Lodge. I wish you the very best. Thanks for keeping this old place in tact.
Love this place it’s quaint and very relaxing. A guy said you couldn’t smoke here but there is a designated area under cover with picnic tables grills horse shoes. a sink and chairs.. Such a nice breeze. The rooms are clean the lady and Becky who takes care of the rooms is awesome. The pool is awesome. And it was the best showers I’ve had in a long time. Cindy at the desk is very friendly. I definitely will stay here again and recommend it to my family and friends.
I'll start out by saying, the place has real potential..it's pretty run down , but for the most part, clean..pool is kept nice but it was closed...this is our 2nd time here and nothing has really changed since our last visit 3 years ago...If you stay in room #32, the bed by the window is kind of like a hammock, really saggy..and don't try to make those packets of coffee provided in the coffee maker...pretty bad.. Over all worth what you pay, I suppose...
Kim the manager is, dishonest, rude, threatening, manipulative, and sarcastic. It was brought to my attention that Kim is being laid off, by the new management in March! Upon reading other reviews, she has been negatively reviewed previously as well, by many other patrons I made it clear to her, that I was going to be staying for the week, more than likely. On the second day, after staying there, I told her I needed to confirm with my girlfriend, whether I would be staying through the week, or not, at checkout time. So I checked out, and 2 hours later, I told her that I was going to be checking back in, after talking with my girlfriend. Kim refused to give me the same room which I clearly requested, to be put back into. I made it clear to her, that I wanted that same room, that I was in, because the air conditioning was good; and the freezer was large enough, to put my ice packs in; and it was much quieter in that back area, than in the front, by the highway; and the parking was preferable, per my visiting girlfriend's request. Kim dishonestly claimed, that they needed to do additional work in that room, before I could check back into it, as well as the three additional rooms in the back area, next to the room that I was in.The work in that room, that I requested to be put back into was never completed, as promised, so I was forced to go into an inadequate room, with poor air conditioning, no freezer, and by the highway. Kim knew that I was intending on staying there for the entire week so she knew not to do additional work in that room seeing as that's the room that I prefer to be in. She could have waited until I checked out at the end of the week to start additional work in a room that she was intending to rent to me to begin with The next day, the work was never completed in that room either, as I requested to be put back into it, then as well While in that second, poorly functioning room, on the 3rd day, Kim knocked on the door, and told me that my visiting girlfriend needed to move her car, from the back area, where she preferred to park, into the front area, by the highway. Kim dishonestly claimed, that there was going to be a supposed delivery made, that never occurred, and that my girlfriend's vehicle would need to be moved, in order, for the delivery truck to get in. After talking with an employee, they said that this was not true, because the delivery truck would back in, and pull out forward, when leaving, and there was no need for her to move her vehicle. Also to mention, that I, and my visiting girlfriend parked our vehicles there the previous two days without issue. Kim adamantly demanded, that she move her vehicle to a different, unpreferred location, and threatened to have my girlfriend's vehicle towed, claiming that there was going to be a supposed delivery, that never happened! I told her, I did not appreciate her lack of accommodation, and that I probably would not be staying there again in the future, because of her poor customer service, and she sarcastically responded,... "Great!" I have stayed at the Pennwood three, or four times previously, and was happy with the pricing, and the location of the property, to where I was going to be visiting; but this visit left a terrible taste in my mouth, to ever wish to stay there again; although, I now know, that Kim will be laid off in March, and is desperately trying to find another place to live; and there will be new management coming in, whom I look forward to doing business with in March Every time that I stayed there, in the past, there is only one, or two other rooms, ever booked out, and there is plenty of room to accommodate every patron, with whatever room they choose to preferably stay in, because 90% of the rooms are always vacant! There is no excuse, for shifting me to another room, and preventing me from checking back into the same room, that I was going to be staying in for an entire week, especially since the property was 95% vacant! I am going to be contacting the owners in Virginia whose names were provided to me!
When I got to the hotel I was so agitated that we had to be there. When I saw the smiley face of the front desk attendant, who was having a actual conversation with my kids, I instantly felt a lot better. She has this motherly sofe sweet tone that canale.yoir day just by talking to her. The rooms was clean and comfy. The pool was clean and well kept. My kids loved her and the hotel. It was worth every minute. Thanks to her smiling face
It was awesome! We got in really late or really early depending on how you look at it and they had our room all ready and a place for us to get the key, so we could get rest and wake up and do our plans. The bathroom was decent size and clean, The beds were very comfortable, and another thing we noticed was how nice and quiet and rural it was set back off US1 it was so nice! We went out and let the kids my son 4 and my daughter 3 run around and we even got their toy boat and played in the pool and ended up going for an unexpected swim! Overall the 3 nights we spent there were so nice and quiet and clean! 10/10 definitley going back ASAP!
