Friendly service. The Satay Chicken was hot and tasty. The mild spice option was pretty zippy, but that is more my issue than theirs. A solid offering.
Great chicken and steak dishes, cooked well and not overly sauced like many American Chinese restaurants. Food is always fresh. The Dim Sum is also very good with a big menu. Hard to find dim sum in Milwaukee but they do it best. Service is prompt and courteous. Great prices too. Nice dining area.
Poor customer service from Lisa I will never in life return here! My chicken fried rice smelled and taste scorched I explain to her the situation she tell me next time when you order specifically say I don’t like the taste of charred food? Confused face Never again! Customer service is not a priority here 10/31/2017 I will never return to this restaurant I purchased chicken fried rice online for lunch my food is delivered it smells and tastes scorched. I drive to the restaurant to get the order replaced. I was greeted by Lisa I explain to her the scorched taste and smell. She explains to me that’s how it supposed to taste. I explained to her this is not my first time eating chicken fried rice and I’m the customer this is my concern please replace my order. When I should have just gotten a refund. She starts to speak her language and walk into the back she comes back to the front and says the chef will make you a new one next time make sure you say on your order you don’t like the charred taste?????confused face I will never in life order from here again. I placed the order for my co worker she slides the change on the counter after I gave her the money in her hand. Gives me my replacement order in a bag and my co workers order thanks so much Lisa said. I replied thank you & have a great day!smh
I spent enough money and also gave a tip yet my Mongolian beef had about 7 pieces of beef. My peppered steak was mostly onion which I was charged separately for. My shrimp fried rice was the only thing edible and that was only because I was starving. Also the complimentary fried dumplings where pretty much raw. Overall this was pretty much the worst place I've ordered from so I would advise anyone who would even considered to eat here DON'T DO IT you will regret it.
I am new to this neighborhood and choose to order from here. When the delivery came the sesame chicken was spilling in the bag and the Chinese fried chicken was not completely cooked. You could clearly see the batter on the chicken was still doughy. I immediately drove it back to the restaurant and showed the lady whom delivered to me. At that point the gentleman counting down the register starts speaking to her in another language. Then the lady says it is fully cooked it's just not cooked completely to you. How disrespectful one to speak in another language in front of the customer then to insult me by saying I don't know what half cooked chicken is. I immediately just requested my money back and left, first weekend in the neighborhood and a terrible experience already. I will never return to this restaurant, horrible customer service and terrible looking food. Wish I had taken a picture
Amazing fried rice and egg foo young. My office is in the area, so I go there often to grab lunch. The prices are low for the amount and quality of food you get. As others mentioned the inside of the restaurant needs some work, which might explain why no one is ever there. I just get carry outs myself so I can't speak for the service, but the food is exceptional. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area, but I always find myself going back to the peony.
This restaurant deserves 5 stars. I keep coming back because everything I've tried so far is exciting and delicious. The Peking Duck is remarkably authentic. The Dim Sum is delicious, well-presented, and varied in choices. The interior is a little dark, due to lack of windows, but it is otherwise very clean and pleasant. The staff were very kind and helpful. My wife and I were given tips for Dim Sum, and helpful instruction on how to eat other Chinese dishes. If you want excellent food with a little adventure, I recommend this place.
Great food & service. I had the chicken with Chinese vegetables with garlic & black bean sauce. Chicken was very tender, veggies cooked perfectly & the sauce very tasty. Great bowl of egg drop soup to start. Nice cloth tablecloth & pleasant surroundings.
I went to Peony Restaurant 8 years ago, and decided to go again with my wife and a friend for a Thanksgiving meal. I was a little worried with the poor reviews, but food was generally great. I really liked the fried taro rice cake and the sticky rice in lotus leaf, but the steamed chicken buns were only so so. Main dishes were also great, and they threw in a complimentary potstickers as a thanks for our business on what otherwise would be a quiet day for them.
We're new to the area and were quite uncertain and reluctant about trying a new Chinese restaurant. After reading the other positive reviews, we decided to give it a shot. Excellent!!! The people were wonderful, it was very clean and the food was so delicious. Very authentic and not greasy at all. I can't say enough for how great our first experience was :
