Today is Raymo's second birthday. He came to us via Pet Express in Danvers. He was in excellent health when we got him, in fact he'd already received some vaccines and had been seen by a vet. Took him to my vet who found him in great condition. The young woman who sold him to us seemed to have a relationship with him and he was affectionate with her. Brought him back for a visit a few months later and they remembered each other. Pet Express is not a place where dogs are abused or mistreated, it's a pet shop. A place where people can buy puppies that match their needs and suit them. Rather than trying to stop people from buying pups at pet stores, how about regulating the breeders. Require them to be licensed and subject to inspection, like pet shops are. I love my Pet Express pup. If the "puppy mill" protesters got their way, Raymo wouldn't be here with me. Any time that a dog and a human can find forever homes together is an awesome time, no matter where either of them come from.
I'm a member of Mass Coalition to End Puppymills. All Pet Stores get their pups from this inhumane industry. It's all greed. We will be filling our bill again to Ban Commercial Pet Stores in MA. Last year we heard the sob stories from the owners of Pet Express...now we have this to take to the State House. #passmassban #masscoaltiontoendpuppymills #laughlinkennelboycott
Small but packed with everything you need. Has a great big fish tank. Bunnies. And great service. Its a great place to go for unique tasty doggy treats too
It's sad someone gave this store five stars because, while they know their dog is from a puppy mill, they love him. I would hope you love your dog and I completely agree the breeders should be shut down as well, but that doesn't mean you should financially support puppy mills or the stores that keep them in business. This store has been around since I was a kid with puppy mill dogs in little cages. When I was a child and didn't know better I wanted to buy them all to "save" them from the store. Thankful I know better now. Hopefully people can educate themselves more on puppy mills and stop supporting this awful store.
I love seeing all the cute dogs the staff is nice and they don't mind if you just want to pop in and take a peek at puppies.
Went there to buy a puppy, the girl was nice and friendly, her name was Bella however I decided to postpone the purchase for next day to get my home ready for the puppy, next day went to the same Danver branch, horrible employees, waited 5 minutes so that anyone would come offer help! But no they don’t like their job! Finally I went to ask about the puppy, the store manager added extra food items that added $180 on top of the dog price, When I expressed that this is too expensive compared to other places she said” you don’t have to buy!! Very poor attitude from a store manage! Very frustrating
There were warming lights in each container. The dogs were all trying to get fresh air near the little outside holes. It was extremely disturbing to see. i think reputable breeders are fine but i fear these pups are raised in puppy mills. no good breeder would tolerate these conditions.
Drove by last night to pick up our puppy. She has an amazing fun personality and exceeds our expectations for behavior and smarts. She's a Boston terrier akc certified and absolutely beautiful. Reading reviews and seeing pictures on this site are absolutely pathetic by people with no lives and lots of time to complain. Yes there are people saying adopt don't buy. Here's the problem. Have you worked at a shelter??? Have oh even walked in the doors of one??? We've looked into adopting multiple times and what we find are pit bulls and chiwawas. And adoption fees are $300-$450. So you're accentually paying for a dog who possibly has been raised poorly and could have issues with other dogs. Not to mention is definitely not certified or able to be breed as they spay and neuter the animals immediately. It's almost impossible to find a puppy at a shelter and if you do they are top dollar for a mutt usually not that a mutt isn't ok it's just impossible to get exactly what you're looking for at a shelter. Unless it's a cat. The puppy is going to receive great love either way that's what should matter. Someone will buy him/her and the "Puppy mills" that breed them will continue because people have demand for purebred dogs. And most people are willing to pay to have want they would like. As for the condition of the puppies at this location. They were all well kept. Before we played with our little girl we had to sanatize our hands. We couldn't even pick her up. Their rules for the puppies are legit and this was the best pet store ive ever been to. They treated us well took extra time so we wouldn't have to come back to pick the puppy up as we had a 2 1/2 hour drive. They made sure we were aware of every line that was signed and showed and gave us a list of all her vaccines for the proper age. This place is legit and the 3 women that helped us were great. The owner had to come by as the computer malfunctioned and he was really awesome as well. I'm very impressed with this company. They have done a great job showing how a pet store should be arranged and employees should treat their guests. Awesome job guys!
So i went to pet express today with my 3 kids, i was greeted by a very nice employee no problem there. Then i asked the so called manager if i can see a puppy she rolled her eyes as if i was bothering her, anyways she asked if i was the mother of all 3 kids with an attitude i said yes ALL 3 OF THEM ARE MINE. Went in my kids loved the pup. We were in there for about 5 mins the manager grabbed the pup turned around and said ok we gotta take him now bye thankswith an attitude pretty much she rushed us, she looked like she really doesn’t enjoy her job much. So I decided to adopt a puppy instead of wasting 3,000+$ there.
Went here last year with my boyfriend and my little sister in the search of a Shih tzu or Maltese puppy. We found a female Shih tzu and became really interested in buying her that same day so we asked an employee if we could see the puppy and she asked for ID so we gave her our ID but she insisted on needing my 12 year old sister to give her ID too or she couldn’t let us see the pup. What?? She’s a kid and doesn’t have an ID plus she had my boyfriend’s ID and mine, why does she need three IDs? The employee was rude, she seemed annoyed and treated us poorly. It broke me and my boyfriend’s heart not to be able to bring that little girl home and my little sister couldn’t help but cry BUT, I’m also glad I didn’t because after seeing these reviews they just sell sick dogs from Puppy Mills. Forget buying at pet shops, I was close on making that mistake, ADOPT DONT SHOP! I adopted a 2 month old Maltese somewhere else later that same week and she’s healthy and the best thing that has ever happened to us.
