We are caring, experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions that are of utmost importance!
For over 90 years, the Peters & Murray Funeral Home has been serving families in the Greater Grand Ledge Community.
Originally established in 1922 by Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith, the Smith Funeral Home was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Leslie R. Peters in 1938. They operated the Peters Funeral Home until 1960, at which time Tom and Phyllis Murray became associates. The name was changed to Peters & Murray Funeral Home in 1965 when the Murrays became partners in the business.
In 1984, Tom and Phyllis’ middle son, John, joined the firm. John’s wife, Shelly, joined in 1993, and they are now principal partners. They continue to provide the tradition of personal service for which they are so well known and, in addition, offer counseling services both before and after the death of a loved one.
The Murray family is proud and honored to be supported by our wonderful community for so many years. They appreciate it and are thankful to all of you who have entrusted them to help and serve your families coping with loss.
