Our first dining experience at El Petra restaurant was awesome. The appetizer, main food, and dessert were all super tasty and authentic. The food presentation was very nice and appealing as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was fine but certainly had room for improvement. On Friday night they had live entertainment that included a band playing and singing Arabic musics and songs, which was very fun. Overall, would recommend Petra restaurant for those who are looking to try high-quality/authentic Arabic food.
The appetizers and sides were amazing, the big kabob plate was great as well, the chicken between them was done the best. The atmosphere was something else specially after Morocco won their game in World Cup that’s the reason for all the dancing in the videos. Overall a 5 star experience through and through
As someone who has been to Petra before and now after the pandemic, there have been significant changes. My impression of Petra before wasn’t necessarily the best, but since the kitchen and management staff changed they improved tremendously. For starters, their staff was extremely friendly and welcoming when I came in, and treated my guests and I with extreme courtesy. We even received a complimentary tabouleh on the house for the food wait which wasn’t long. The appetizers we ordered were delicious, top quality. Both hummus and mutabbal were fresh and quite tasty. The main plates of fried fish and salmon were good, but my advice is to focus on Arab plates, which is what they do better. Overall my experience was satisfying and pleasant. Something to keep in mind, is that I wasn’t present during an event or during the night time.
Did I say best customer service ? Well the best customer service by far in Mississauga. The owner is very friendly and makes sure you are taken care for ! The food was really good. We tired the hummus with meat. I don’t remember the name but it was GOOD. Would definitely recommend having Kofta with Tahini. Oh and they have the best fluffy bread or naan. They serve it fresh and HOT. They have live music that starts at 9pm. Also the owner went out of his way to get us something and everyone should know. We ordered Turkish coffee, and as we all know it’s toooo bitter, so we had asked for something sweet on the side. The owner got cookies for everyone a group of 10. Plus he gave us a packet of cookies to take home with us, worth 25$ I believe. I would definitely keep coming here for food, customer service and ambience.
The place is very dodgy on Thursdays and Fridays due to the party theme and loude music. But the food was very delicious. The place is not recommended for kids due to the fact that smoking is allowed inside and the place reeks of shisha smell. I wouldn’t recommend this place for business lunches or dinners. However if you wanna party with your friends, smoke and eat dinner while enjoying Arabic songs , this is the place to go.
When we think about mediterranean Jordanian restaurants, Petra is always our first option and it never disappoints. From the starter to the dessert the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding, Mansaf might have been the best meal I have ever been served in Canada. Service was delightful and very professional. 10/10 Thanks Feras and Ahmad for warm welcome.
Great place for a birthday party, affordable prices and perfect service Thursday with dj mario was wonderful me and my group had so much fun and we were very satisfied with everything Although some people were filming us without our consent and it was very uncomfortable and annoying. I wish the restaurant would give those people a notice not to film other people!!
This Jordanian place has the yummiest food ever! It's spacious with a nice interior taking guests here is also a great idea. We ordered the big grill which had everything and it was divine!! Make sure you reserve a table because this place is busy to the extent where no empty tables are left. Good crowd. The only thing that was bothersome was the live music/singing which was VERY loud. If they lower the volume on that, it's all good.
Authentic middle eastern cuisine. Served with a smile. Decent Sheesha. Super loud with the Kareoke and live music situation, but also has a prayer room in the back ; All #halal
I saw a $$$ sign so I decided to reserve 6 persons for dinner on Wednesday welcoming my nephew from LA. My food experience: -We order Humus with meat, tabbouleh, fatoush, and eggplant Fattah all came with good presentation and quality ingredients. A little bit more salty and sour than the usual normal taste for the dishes. I would say 8/10. - The 2 thick freshly baked Taboun bread came with a very delicious starter, they add olive oil and sesame Zaatar on top was an amazing idea. -Main dishes were kasbah chicken and lamb, which came with a nice presentation on a clay bowl, I like it so much, the rice was very delicious, not sticky, and well cooked. The veal and chicken were nicely cooked and tender and portions were good and very tasty so it is 10/10 for Kabssah -We had 2 orders for Mansaf, and portions were enough for 3 people even more. Mansaf was so authentic taste heavy and rich in taste. Little saltier in general Excellent 9/10 Restaurant experience: -I called 2 times they return my miss call in 5 min with a welcome. -many things don't reflect the $$$ sign restaurant: the entrance wants to be upgraded and organized, no welcome Arabic coffee! Utensils are very scratched and rotten used! Washrooms with no paper towels. - portions were too good but they have to work on it further in terms of rice-to-lamb ratio or steak-to-hummus ratio was too much. - staff brought plates and utensils and run like all what you can eat style! If it's a $$$ restaurant I need to feel and see wile enjoying excellent food. For sure deserve another try!
