The Petrecki & Son story......in 1974 I started working for a great guy and pretty good mason for $135 per week, a lot of money then I thought! My nickname was Butch but he'd call me "Botch" for all the stuff I'd get wrong. Strong as hell and loving to work all day in the hot sun, I loved the job. Working for Pete Davey back then was not only a great job but a great influence on my life.
Those days my work consisted of mixing mortar, pouring concrete and general labor involving brick, block and stone. Moving into the 1980s I began working for myself at small jobs, mostly block and concrete. I got better at the trade and really enjoyed the building. It was strong, durable and lasted a lifetime.
In 1989 I took on a brand identity, legally as DBA Petrecki & Son. My son, Nick, was added only as a formality at first, but progressed into a very good summer helper. He was hard-working, comical and a good eater!
The business has since been incorporated and is formally known as Petrecki & Son, LLC. I employ two laborers and almost exclusively perform residential new construction, renovation and restoration projects in the stone, masonry and tile trades. I enjoy my clients and pride myself on the satisfied customer referrals of my projects. In addition to the professionalism of both my laborers, my business
success is built on good listening skills and "form follows function" etiquette. I carry both general liability and workers compensation insurance for all business endeavors.
My recent market niche has been primarily natural stone walks, walls and patios as well as paver walks and walls. I am passionate about natural and cultured stone veneers and fireplaces, for both new building construction and renovation and period restoration. The winter months find me indoors for custom tile bathroom renovations, staying within the trowel trades. This winter season I have thoroughly enjoyed conceptualizing and building a 1000 bottle wine cellar with a
lot of custom stone work. Stay tuned for details as the project completes shortly!
