Veterinary Hospital - offering wellness, medicine, surgery, radiology, and acupuncture.
McAllister’s Veterinary Clinic is a small animal practice with a very relaxed atmosphere. In addition to seeing dog and cats, we are one of the few practices to see avian and exotics including reptiles, rabbits and some pocket pets. We have two exam rooms, a small lab, a surgery and digital x-ray facility. The office is situated on a large piece of property so there is plenty of room for walking your dogs.
Dr. Michael McAllister is a 1970 graduate of the University of a Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine and has worked as a small animal practitioner in Salisbury since 1972. In 1986 he opened his own practice on Dykes Road in Salisbury. He lives close to the practice with his cat, Rodger, and Tony, a 36 year old cockatoo.
Meet the Staff:
DeNiece has been working with Dr. McAllister since 1985 and recently became a certified veterinary technician. Dee assists with surgery and takes most of the x-rays. You’ll also see her doing exams with Dr. McAllister and giving some vaccinations. Dee lives in Hebron with her husband, her two sons, and her beautiful golden retriever, Sierra.
Joan joined the practice in 1992. It’s the perfect job for her since she loves being surrounded by dogs. You will find her assisting Dr. McAllister or working in the lab. Joan lives in Hebron with four furry friends: Moriah and Grace (weimaraners), Roxy (pomeranian mix), and Glory (labrador mix).
Micki has been at the clinic since 2002. She is our official pet greeter and can answer any question you might have on birds, kittens, and geriatric pets. She is usually working in the front or assisting DeNiece. Micki lives in Salisbury with her husband. Sharing their home is Mitzi (a little terrier mix); three cats, Mushu, Minou, and Harper; plus two cockatiels and three parakeets. There is no partridge in a pear tree.
Jessica has been working at the practice since 2007. If you call the clinic, you’ll usually speak with her and she is probably the first person you’ll see when you walk through the door. In addition to being our computer wizard, she can answer any questions regarding exotics. Jessica lives in Delmar with her husband & young son. Her rambunctious boxer (Eva) three cats (Rayne, Nemo and Gadget) and bearded dragon (Bob) are also part of the family.
We hope you’ll consider bringing your pet to meet us. Our friendly staff is always ready to assist in any way. We’re all about the animals, and we always have lots of cat treats and dog biscuits on hand.
