!!Extremely disappointed to the point of blacklisting the restaurant!! The severs where nice but we made a reservation and where seated 15 minutes after it was set for and the table was wet but when we first got there we had no idea where to go, if we seat ourselves, I'm guessing they where short staffed for the reason for no greater. We ordered 6 wing for a appetizer and it took 40 minutes to get to the table. My drink tasted like there orange juice was bad, the prime rid was hard to cut with a dull knife. I had there special Burger with bison it was so flavor less just blah. We decided to have dessert and the cheesecake was frozen solid spent 85 dollars for 1 app, 2 entree, 1 dessert, 2 drinks not worth it at all
We had the Cafe Style Hot Beef Waffle, the Uptown Farmhouse Breakfast Waffle, and Elderflower Mimosas for brunch yesterday. Everything was delicious, and the staff was great. The restaurant also has this neat little room that you have to check out, where you can sample fresh balsamics and olive oils. The peach balsamic is amazing!Dine in: Yes
Absolutely 5 stars for the Pheasant! If you want local, Brookings local, South Dakota food fare and atmosphere, here is your place. Unique to the area dishes, like a Bison filet or chislic. The service was outstanding and we had a sweetheart of a gal for a server. She asked what our occasion wasanniversary and she treated us for a choice of dessert. Local, delicious, Brookings past and present, are all things that describe the Pheasant!
Super friendly and efficient staff Toby and a big surprise for me - I was expecting an old school, small town dining experience and was instead treated to an updated restaurant with a fun menu and a cool wine cellar with gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars. They even have their own coffee roast! Was there for breakfast and had stuffed waffles - fun twist on standard fare! Kid-friendliness: Got rated best hot chocolate by my kid
We visited the pheasant after seeing it on a list of "must visit" restaurants in South Dakota. We enjoyed excellent service, a unique atmosphere, and some excellent food. We look forward to returning to try more menu items.
The sweetcorn-sunflower hummus appatizer is delicious!Food: 5/5
Where else can you get a bison steak? I'm sure there are others, but this is a nice piece of Americana. I brought a colleague from the UK here and was very excited to have the bison. It should be noted that it is a Chinese Ringneck pheasant, but it's adapted well to South Dakota! The food is great, jazz music on Mondays is nice when it's available. This is one one of the best places in Brookings!
Had dinner July 30 with reservation . This place did not disappoint. Catfish to die for. Pheasant wrap was so delish had me wanting more. Maddy was our waitress she was so warm and friendly. My drink of choice was a pineapple drink with southern comfort. I will be coming back.

Love love love this restaurant a lot! Staff are friendly and food is amazing! The only negative thing I can say the last time I visited it was that it seemed like forever waiting for our food to be served. That is why I am giving it 4 stars.
