We did the Italian Market Immersion Tour! Our guide, Shelly did a great job as she walked us through a beautiful artsy neighborhood before entering the market. She was knowledgeable, kind and made the tour a great experience!
Would highly recommend the Italian Market and Magic Gardens tour. Howard was so friendly and knowledgeable about everything we saw and had great stories to share!
Trigger warning: near death experience. I went on a food tour with Chuck. At the beginning of the tour he asked everyone if they had any known food allergies but little did I know he would NOT be prepared to treat it in case an allergic reaction would arise. We went to several delicious food places to get pretzels, Mediterranean food, Philly cheesesteaks etc. We finally stopped by Goldie’s to get tahini shakes and continued on our walking tour. It tasted great but minutes later I felt my throat closing rapidly and it was becoming increasing difficult to swallow. I brought it to the attention of Chuck and he non-chanantly said I can walk back to the restaurant to ask them for the ingredients in the shake and he also pointed to the cvs a couple blocks away and said I can grab medicine from there bc he had NOTHING on him to help me. I left the tour early and rushed to CVS for Benadryl bc I had this feel of impending doom that If my issue wasn’t addressed IMMEDIATELY I was going to die. I didn’t get much relieve from Benadryl so I went to urgent care where I was diagnosed with an anaphylactic reaction a potentially deadly allergic reaction, given an epi shot, and rushed to the ER for further treatment and observation. The healthcare team confirmed the urgency and severity of my condition. I’m well now but I would hate to see this happen to anyone else. It’s important that a food tour guide is equipped and trained to administer life saving medications Benadryl, and epi pen in case an allergic reaction does arise. I’m blessed that my throat didn’t completely close up but that’s not to say that this may not be the case for someone else. I’m demanding a change in the practices of this company for the safety of other tourists. Thank you.
We took the tour on July 20th 2020 and Howard was our tour guide. He was absolutely fabulous. It was terribly hot but he took his time and told us so many interesting things at all of the locations we visited. I would highly recommend asking for Howard if you book a tour for Philadelphia!
We did the history tour with Adam, and it was an amazing historical tour of Philly. Short enough that you can easily work it into a day in Philly, but in-depth enough that you come away having learned a hell of a lot. Couldn't recommend it, or Adam as a guide, more highly. Really gives you a richer understanding of Philadelphia's place in US history.
Spent a great 4 hours with Owen yesterday. What a wonderful way to see the city! Owen was an absolute delight and he put up with our shenanigans Highly recommend this service!
