Description

This family owned pizzeria is named after the owners Grandmother, Philomena Marie. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1919, the proud mother of nine children and the Great Grandmother to dozens. She lived for her family, her faith in God and good food.

In memory of Philomena, we dedicate this pizzeria to her and ask her to watch over this country store and all that walk through its doors.

Moved into Candlewood lake 3 weeks ago and this little place has a little bit of everything. We have had the pizza,subs and garlic bread with cheese all by the way was amazing. Fast friendly service every time. They also have lots of cold beverage options and snacks. Staff friendly.Food: 5/5
Good subs but doesn't matter when they close whenever. Update: how a business treats it's customers can matter as much if not more than the product they provide. The last 2 times I tryed to place a order within posted business hours. The man that answered the the phone both times in a irate tone told me they were closed and hung up. He didn't even give me a chance to double check their hours of operations. This happen 2 weeks in a row. There was no sorry we are closed or we stop taking orders at this time. this wasn't the first time I had an issue with this business. The first time I ordered a pizza ,the mama Mia was made incorrect. A dozen pieces of pepperoni and triple cheese. Nothing like the photos posted. They did made it right with me . I was a newer customer with 3 order in 2 months. When I have issues with an employee at a place I review the place in 6 month to a year. After reading the owners unprofessional comments I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone. This business has earned zero star but it makes me give them at least 1 star

Very good quality of food. Subs are definitely the choice to go here very fresh ingredients and the buns are toasted to near perfection. Pizza crust taste amazing but the sauce taste plain needs to be a little sweeter. Not to many pizza shops offer old world pepperoni but this place does!! Only downfall from 5 star is just the sauce.
The food was Ok, given not much other options but the man behind the counter, possibly a proprietor, is always mean and in a bad mood. Every time we come in he seems like he is mad at the world and no clue as to costumer service. We have heard this from a number of family members and friends also. The foods not bad so hopefully they can find another front person. The reply to my review completely supports my review.

Best pizza I have had/found since my favorite place had closed almost 2 years ago. Was absolutely fabulous and now know where I will be getting my pizza from now on. In my opinion this beats out ANY other "chain" pizza place!!!
Subs are excellent and not to expensive. Fresh and vegetables are fresh.very polite workers. I didn't know about the outback store until the shopping compass. Im glad i gave it a try. Best subs around.
I loved the crust!!! Great flavor!!! I'll be back but I'll ask for the pizza to be well done next time. Not very crispy.
The sauce is wonderful -- sweet and spicy at the same time. I don't know how they bake their pizza, but the crust is crispy without being dry. What a terrific surprise to find a pizza so good that it could easily compete with the best pizza in any big city in such a remote country setting. Recommend without reservation.
