We had a great first visit to Phoenix Dog Park. It took me a second to figure out how to get in... The entrance is along the very tall fence on the long side of the dog park. The grass was plentiful. The grounds were well-maintained. Dog owners were respectful, tidy, and polite. The fence between the small and large dogs is short 3' chain link, so it might be an issue if you have a fence jumper. There is a hose, wading pools, dog bowls, 5 gallon bucket... plenty of water. There are poop bags and garbage bins along the perimeter of park. There are shade structures which are very welcomed on warm days. The western side of the park automatically ends up in the shade in the afternoon, thanks to trees behind the fence line. There isn't any basic agility equipment or tables like at some dog parks. Lots of people bring their dogs and Chuck-Its to just play fetch, and none of the dogs there were toy aggressive or anything. Oh, and I like the cool message board sign in the front! All in all, it was a great experience and I'm looking forward to future visits.
What a wonderful dog park. Several large areas and a couple small areas for the dogs to run and play. Water pools in each area for dogs to cool and tennis balls everywhere. The crowd seemed very attentive to their dogs and no incidents while I was visiting. Very clean park and well maintained. So grateful to have found this park to bring my shepherd.
This is my favorite dog park. It's large and offers plenty of room to throw balls and let the little ones socialize. The problem is people do not read signs and come to the small dog side with their large dogs. This past weekend June 9 there was a horrible incident with a black chow that was brought in that hurt a puppy and sent it to the vet with multiple surgeries. KEEP THE BIG DOGS OUT OF THE SMALL SIDE PEOPLE! There is also a problem with parents bringing their small children in under 5. The little dogs like to bark and chase them sometimes and it scares the kids. Again, folks are not reading the signs. I was talking to some of the regular patrons yesterday. If big dogs are brought in, you will be asked to go to the other side. If small children are brought in, you do so at your own risk.
Sick of my small dog being trampled, and tossed around by large dogs that owners aren't watching. When you confront the owners they act entitled and don't want there dogs around bigger dogs for the same reason. How ironic. But they won't use the large dog park. They come up with excuses why they don't neuter their dogs or watch them and act like victims when you call them out
There are pools nd several areas for different sized dogs. Lots of grass and trees. Our dogs loved it!! Restrooms: Clean Dog-friendliness: Dogs loved this dog park.
No homeless with poor pitbulls here... Mostly upper middle class and middle class suburbanites and their well taken care of dogs. The park is two sided and we'll maintained. The small dog people are more organized and clique focused... I'd say there are more "unique" people on the small dog side.. big dog people are more laid back and also don't stay as long. Most of the people are nice and almost all clean up after their dogs. Turns into a mud pit after the rain.
Very nice park with large and small dog sides. Well kept with pick up bags and trash cans. They just added a couple trees and it obviously maintained. Never an issue on the small dog side. Have seen a couple of fights on big side. Just be aware of breeds in park before you go in. Before 9am and after 3pm are probably the best times.
I don’t have a dog but my son and his dog are visiting for awhile. Wow - I never knew this great place existed in my neighborhood! The people have all been extremely kind and very aware of their dog’s behavior. There is a little shade which is good and little wading pools for the dogs! There are two large play areas - small/medium and large dog areas.
Very nice place. Fenced dog park with water and plenty of room for your dog to take his energy out. Everyone is nice and friendly.
The people here were really nice and considerate. Dogs are a reflection of their owners
