This airport has a great layout and accommodations. I love how there is a special room that locks in the woman’s bathroom that offers a changing table and a cushion for your little ones. The airport seemed very clean and most of the staff I dealt with was pleasant! Arizona is a hot state but the smoking patio seemed quaint. By the boarding gates they have a Panera Bread, a bar and a gift shop. The chairs by the boarding gates seemed worn and most were ripping. The only reason I’m not rating a 5/5 stars is because I noticed while waiting to check in that two older ladies at different times, pushed the button for assistance and were left for 15+ minutes. The first older lady tried calling help on the courtesy phone and when she had no luck she had to flag a worker down to get assistance. Other than that, it’s a pretty nice airport!
It’s an hour from my house, but I love flying out of here. Small airport, with quick service. Allegiant flies direct to where I need to go and I find tickets more affordable than anywhere else. Great place to fly out of.
Extremely smooth airport experience. I have flown out of this airport a few times and each time it has been very relaxing. In contrast to the bigger airports, you are in and through security within a matter of 15 minutes. The staff are friendly. The gates are very close together and you don’t have to walk very far. Of course you do have a limited option of airlines that can fly from this airport and other similar smaller airports, but the experience didn’t seem to deter me from having a good experience. Parking, drop off, every part of the airport seems to be easier than major massive airports. I would highly recommend this airport if you have a connection city you can reach by flying out of this airport!
This is Phoenix’s secondary airport. Many regional small airlines fly from here. Allegiant being the primary airlines to fly from here. Tickets are cheaper to fly from here. The parking lot is bit away from the airport itself. There’s a shuttle service available to and from parking lot and airport. Parking is 8$ per night.
This airport is easy to navigate. It has well marked signage for terminal, parking, and Airlines. We mostly use Allegiant Airlines. Their flights are affordable and direct to locations we visit. Within the airport terminal, there are restaurants, travel shops for quick grab snacks, drinks, leisure reading and travel necessities. The O.H.S.O brewery location served a delicious hearty breakfast and yogurt parfait. We’ll return next trip.
Love it! I’ve never had an issue here. As far as travel goes, you can get dropped off and get on to your plane pretty quickly, but the roads will get clogged pretty quick with drivers there to pick up passengers that have just landed. As a side note, Phx-Mesa Gateway has a lot of exciting and new aircraft that visit all the time for military training, firefighting, and other unique purposes. Planes will park right next to the airport fencing so you can see them up close. Just look for the small crowds of plane photographers when the jets are flying around and you’ll know where to go. Also keep a lookout for the smaller planes flown by student pilots, they are everywhere!
It was a nice convenient little airport. Super easy to get through security. And was well taking care of. Thanks for the good experience.
Super small cute and clean. The smallest airport I've ever been too. Bathrooms were clean and everyone was friendly. And they do enforce federal mask mandates.
This Airport is really small. They have a Starbucks, Panera bread, & a little store for snacks, etc. The seating areas were fairly clean. The bathroom was clean. I flew with allegiant and their agents were nice. Tsa was also nice.
I don't know how accurate my review will be since I landed late at night and took off early in the morning. There were no issues, no delays, no problems. The terminal is separated into separate buildings, but since it was originally an air force base, its primary purpose was not the ease and accommodation of multiple passengers. There isn't much in the way of gift shops or cafes, but minimum requirements are meet. It is a no frills airport that gets the job done and makes it easy to get in and out.
