About

Freemasonry

Description

What are the Ceremonies?

The experience of becoming a member of a Masonic Lodge is divided into three ceremonial stages that Masons call "degrees." These three degrees are loosely based upon the journeyman system, which was used to educate Medieval craftsmen. Symbolically the degrees represent the three stages of human development: youth, manhood, and age.

The first degree of Freemasonry is the Entered Apprentice degree. It is a candidate's first experience with the ceremonies of the fraternity and like all Masonic ceremonies is a solemn and meaningful event. Though new to Freemasonry, an Entered Apprentice enjoys the title of "Brother."

The Fellow Craft degree is the second ceremony and exposes a Brother to more of the symbolism and philosophy of the fraternity. For skilled craftsmen this degree would have marked one's progress from an apprentice to a journeyman.

The Master Mason degree is the last of the Lodge ceremonies and with it a candidate becomes a full member, enjoying both the rights and responsibilities of membership.

During all three ceremonies, a candidate is treated with complete respect. At no time, is he ever made to feel uncomfortable or harassed in anyway. Masonic ceremonies are a wonderful tradition shared by men such as George Washington, Harry S. Truman, Dave Thomas, and other men of integrity. These ceremonies are always conferred in such a way as to bring pride to the candidate and the members of the Lodge.

Mission

To make good men better.

This camp is magical and a place where kids of all ages, including teens, can be themselves and just enjoy the freedom of camp with friends. My daughter was unsure of summer camp at first but is already hoping to go back in just a few weeks for another session! Camp staff including an amazing nurse and leadership are all talented and so kind and supportive of every camper. Looking forward to many summers to come!
This place is amazing! I just finished counseling a week long camp there, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. Staff are caring and attentive to changing needs. The atmosphere is positive, and safe for any who come to Pilgrim Lodge! Highly recommend this place!
Perfect camping experience! Quiet and laid back but still teaches great values like ecology and empathy. Staff is super kind and hard working. I have taken my kids here for 10 yrs and love it!!
Best summer camp on planet Earth
Never went here as a camper - only as a counselor and dean. Best people to be with ever! Loads of activities, plus plenty of interaction with kids/adults your own age. I would have adored coming here as a youngster. I hope PL lasts forever and ever.
There's no place like PILGRIM LODGE! I've been a counselor for 20+ years to new campers. These kids are often experiencing overnight camp for the first time. They learn so much in a one week stint. The most important is that they are loved and accepted for who they are. Often, these same children are torn at the end of their week, to be going home and missing all the close friendships they've made and the life-changing experiences they've had. A hugfest always ensues!! Bittersweet!
A caring, compassionate community where all are welcome, and none are judged. This is the church of my heart, and perhaps my favorite place to be. Coming here as a youth, and volunteering as an adult, P.L. has been a crucial cornerstone in the foundation of my life. Shalom.
Beautiful place for fun, worship reflecting, and making new friends experiencing God through nature great staff great food reasonable prices a great camping experience with programs for all ages see website for more details
Wow, never knew this place existed! Was here for a one day conference. Beautiful relaxing environment on the lake. Food was a little cafeteria-ish.
An AMAZING experience. I really can't think of a better place to be at one with God and nature. The staff and counselors are so incredibly caring. The location is gorgeous!
