PineWood TMS offers Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to people who suffer from depression a convenient, localized, non-systemic, non-invasive treatment with a proven record of success.
PineWood TMS Program is a wellness focused program for individuals suffering with depression. PineWood TMS provides patients with supportive coaching and integrative, holistic care while receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in a safe, comfortable setting.
During TMS treatment sessions, MRI strength electromagnetic pulses are directed at the cortex of the brain to stimulate areas of the brain that are known to regulate mood. TMS therapy treatments are performed under the supervision of a trained psychiatrist. When receiving TMS treatments, patients remain awake while they are comfortably seated. A typical treatment course is five treatment sessions per week for 4-6 weeks. Each treatment session lasts for 40 minute treatments.
TMS is non-pharmolcologic and non-systemic, meaning that it is not taken by mouth and does not circulate in the blood stream. Therefore, no side effects such as weight gain, sexual problems, stomach problems, sleepiness, or dry mouth have been seen. In addition, there are no negative effects on memory or ability to concentrate; the patient is awake and alert during treatment. Moreover, it doesn’t involve surgery, anesthesia or sedation.
