I had the house Omelette and it's was very good, very cheesy, which I like. The waitress was great. I've eaten here many times and it's always a good stop. Wheelchair accessibility: A whole senior home was there and they had no problems getting in, out or having their bus pull up to the front door.
Whenever my brother and I would be going up north, we always stopped there for the good old home cooking. Never again!! We went there on Friday, August 11, 2023 and both of us ordered the hot beef sandwich, w/potatoes and gravy. What a big mistake!! Certainly was not the home cooking that it used to be. Was really awful!! We had planned on having pie, but after that disaster, we paid and left. They also charge 3% extra if you use a credit card and no prior notification of this. I am sure that is against the law. Don't even waste your time going here. Bad news!!
This is one of our favorite places to stop when we are in that direction. The food is always delicious, the service fast, and the staff is so friendly. From today’s visit the waiter didn’t understand that my husband wanted Sprite and me a water with a lemon. He brought my husband a water, another server observed what was happening and brought what we asked for and explained to the first what the request was, out of view and earshot.
The food was not good. Our waitress was off in some other solar system. Could not remember what to write down. Then when she brought our food out said 'is this yours'. They charge 3% service fee if you are paying with a credit card that we did not know about until our check came. They do have a little sign on the stand where you pay but you do not see that until you go up to pay. Then they tell you if you are paying in cash that you are getting a discount. No, you are not. You are still paying regular price. Will not be back.
Stopped in for lunch with my boys today. We had the chicken fried steak and the loaded musket and both were fantastic! Eggs were perfect as were the hash browns. Service was friendly and fast. If you’re looking for some good home cooked food, this is the place! You won’t be sorry.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
Very quaint. Nice servers. Great portion sizes. Got the turkey club and came with fries. Added a salad. Husband got a patty melt. Said it was good but very very greasy. The soup was chicken dumpling. Really big bowl for the price and very hearty. We come here every year on our way up to the cabin. Great place.Food: 5/5
Friday fish sucked the fish looked good, but it was still raw on the inside. Witch means the oil was to hot for speed. The cook was outside smoking when we left. The clam chowder soup was extremely thick. Didn't taste the best. Maybe sitting on the warmer all day. This restaurant used to be great. Parking: No cars in the lot
Was not impressed and would not recommend. Building felt old and food menu options were very limited. No good options outside of breakfast foods or a sandwich. I wanted a dinner like fish or chicken or meatloaf or a steak or something, but there was no option. What they did have was pretty simple/basic. I went with a hot beef sandwich which was basically white bread and potatoes covered in gravy. I often passed by this diner on my trips to southern Wisconsin and finally stopped in to see what it was like. I thought it would be a bit more iconic or offer something special, but their food isn’t anything special. I should have picked somewhere different for my birthday.
Small town restaurant right off the highway, has alot of character and the food was delicious. The food was a tad pricey for what you get and very little in place to fight the pandemic. The staff had on their mask and they had a sneeze guard protecting the cashier, but that was it. Customers still sat within six feet, if that's something that would bother you. The service was okay, the pie looked amazing and the atmosphere was minimal.
Great food, absolutely amazing service and can't beat prices. Nice sized portions and fresh baked bread! Haven't had anything this good in a while!
