I am surprised that this place is not slammed, the quality of food is A+. I know there are a few restaurants with similar fair around the neighborhood but none compare to Pita Cafe's food. You can tell everything is made fresh and we are never disappointed when we eat there. The service is great and the owner is super friendly. This is also an easy place to go if you have little one's. If you have not already and live in the neighborhood you have to try this place out.
Vegetarian Lover I always visit this place when I am in the area. I love the falafel platter... Fresh falafel. delish Turkish salad, fresh and creamy avocado spread, tasty hummus... clean environment.. yes is mostly empty when I had gone...Will drive from the southside of chicago for their food..
Well, I took the bus all the way from downtown, based on what I have read on the internet and, well...deception was huge. First, the guy at counter stayed almost 15 minutes on the phone before daring asking what we wanted. Then , the price!!!! 11 bucks for lunch combo, waow. I moved back to Europe in 2002, but I still know whats going on in Chicago. It is too expensive. Then the quality : poor ... the chicken was dry, not fresh, Baba ganoush was miserably poor in eggplants, it was more like a basic hummus with a tiny piece of roasted eggplant drowning in it. $0.75 Falafel was just without a taste. There are so many places in Chicago where falafel are just good. Rice : too oily. But the best part is , for all muslim people in Chicago, the meat is not Halal. I would like to tell you : va voir ailleurs!
Delicious. Great portions. Quick service. Decent price. Big ample parking. Clean bathroom. Friendly service. And somehow mostly empty every time I'm here. Which I like.
I am not sure why I haven't tried this place sooner, but the food is absolutely fantastic, from vegetarian dishes to meat sandwiches. There are quite a few Middle Eastern places around the area, but this one tops them all.
The food is incredible! Every time I order it's always just as good the Pita Mix Grill is incredible and very filling. I highly recommend it!
Ordered the chicken swarma sandwich. No good. Really dry, bland, and the dressing doesn't match what's listed on the menu. The mens bathroom was disgusting! We're talking it was spattered, stained, and no t.p.
The food here is so good and they made it very quickly. I ended up eating my lunch from here again from dinner. I got the lamb lunch special and am dying to go back.
Place is terrible. They advertise one price online and in store its different. I brought it to the owners attention and he tried to tell me if you go to the taco stand next door its the same way.. go to shawarma garden across the street its way better.
Great food , very good service , so good so fresh , ordered a big combo plate for ten people for around $100 only , it was more than enough , the chicken kabob was the best I ever tasted :
