Pursuant to Oklahoma State Statutes, the Court Clerk, as an elected official, is charged with maintaining the records of the District Court of Pittsburg County. The Clerk maintains statistics regarding the filing and disposition of all cases, and collects statutory fines, fees and forfeitures. A portion of all fines, fees and forfeitures collected by the Clerk is the source of revenue for which the office and the Courts are budgeted to operate. The Court Clerk's office also Records, files and maintains permanent records of the proceedings of the District Court
Works with civil, probate, juvenile, domestic relations and small claims divisions of Court
Issues marriage, beverage and certain other licenses and issues passports. The Court Clerk is held accountable to the Oklahoma Court Administrator's Office and the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
