If you own pets, forget about selling here. While their website says nothing about it, I was told they don’t buy clothing with animal hair on it even if it’s freshly cleaned while they did attempt to take one sweater that had cat fur on it but none that did not have fur. As a first time seller, I didn’t know about their “no trash bag/plastic bags” rule and they still made me transfer all of my things folded into bin/reusable bag. There was a cashier willing to make an exception for a first time seller but what I assume is their manager didn’t allow it and was very curt. They offered me $6 for two items and I refused. I’d rather donate elsewhere. Tread carefully and consider if the effort of cleaning and folding your clothing is worth it
I just sold clothes here for the first time. The experience was great overall. Don’t come in expecting a ton of money for each item, but it’s more than the $0.50 I was expecting per item. Of what I brought in, they accepted 6 items for $11.45. Make sure your items are freshly cleaned a few of mine were rejected for cat hair, totally understandable as items need to be ready to go directly on racks to be sold. Branded items are more likely to sell. They also have a whiteboard with specifically what they’re looking for right now these things are much more likely to be bought. The employees were friendly, quick and professional. Overall a good experience and I plan to come back.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I went to sell three big bags of jeans all of my jeans are very nice and some even had tags 15 mins later, a young girl with blonde hair told me that they wasn’t accepting any of my items because they were outdated and had stains. First of all, I did not know that clothes could be outdated and secondly, none of the items had stains on them. I felt as though they was being lazy or even being racist who knows but please don’t sell your clothes here, take them somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!
Horrible experience. The woman that checked my stuff was extremely rude and unwelcoming and spoke to me like I was a nobody. As a first time patronizer, I was highly disappointed in their service. Hopefully they hired better people in the future.
I have been shopping and selling at this store for years I must say in the last 8 months the store has made a complete turn around, they have the best items and the new manager and her husband are the nicest people I’ve ever met, I think there daughter works there the blonde girl and is extremely helpful and friendly, there is another girl ebonnie that did my buy a couple weeks ago who was very friendly, I would definitely give this store 9 stars
My 1st time there on May 13 2023. I Bought a pair of sandals. When I approached the checkout and said hello to the cashier, she didn't respond back. While handing my change to me she dropped some coins and didn't even attempt to pick them up and left my receipt laying on the counter instead of putting it into the bag or handing it to me. Not friendly at all.
0 STARS !!! At first I wanted to call them racist - but with no evidence, I would be profiling. You make the decision: I arrived with a tote of clothes to sell. My tote included maternity work clothes, new blazers that I had never worn because they were too big, and a few summer dresses. after being greeted as a peasant, I was advised that they were not taking any of the clothes I had offered because they were out of season. I asked her how & she advised me dresses and tank tops - there were no tank tops in my tote. As a black woman, I understand how hard it is for people to find nice maternity clothes or business casual wear so instead of being defiant and upset at the deliberate treatment of ignorance that met me at the front door, a young mother like myself who walks into goodwill shall be blessed with my donation. Racist, Profiled, or Both? *** warning: staff is rude when there is less than 2 black owner in the store.
I just left Plato's closet with some very nice shoes that were mint condition some of them were very expensive they didn't accept the shoes I was told that they didn't accept shoes that was no more than 2 years old some of these shoes were basically brand new red bottoms I felt like it was some racial s*** going on I believe if I was a white boy later gave me some money for them shoes I know
Zero Stars: Rude and Racist? I came here to sell and purchase clothing. None of the items were accepted, which is fine, but one of the "managers," Allison rudely told me I couldn't keep the paper with my license number on it. I would have been fine with her keeping it, but how she approached the situation was extremely out of hand. I firmly believe that she requires customer service skills and immediate course correction. I'd hate to make assumptions, but she was only rude to Black customers and a Black staff member. She lacks both class and professionalism. I'd recommend that anyone with class, basic sense and respect for themselves avoid this establishment. I called to speak to another manager and Kellie was initially receptive but later in the call giggled at my concerns. Whether it's racism or rudeness, none of it belongs in a place of business. I will be following up with the Better Business Bureau.
Went to this location to sell a gently used pair of Yeezy 500’s, they said that the wait would be an hour and they would call when ready to pick up. After 2 hours of waiting with no phone call I finally went back to the store to find out they would not take them because of usage and they were done hours ago . Those same shoes were then sold for $250 on eBay within the next day. It’s VERY clear that these employees do not know what they are doing. Out of the three locations in the area this one is the worst I’ve been to.
