My father and godfather along with a slew of family have procured theri materials there for forty to fifty years. I my self have been brought into the family about fifteen years ago. Great family atmosphere with an abundance of knowledge.

Ordered a custom door, it came in and was the wrong size. Was told that they would replace the door at no cost. We bring the door in and they told us their system was down and it would be ordered shortly. They confirmed our phone number and told us they would let us know when the door came in. We called today and they did not only not have the door, but they haven’t even ordered it. The man on the phone said “well hell, we don’t even have a credit card for you.” We explain that, that was not what we were told previously. To which they responded that they were in fact going to charge us for the door after they made multiple errors. Won’t be using them on any further projects.

This place has the potential to be a wonderful amenity to our area for anyone needing lumber/building supplies. However, it is ran by grumpy old men that pay no attention to you as you walk up to the counter to order. Once I caught their attention with my initial $15,500 order they mumbled off something along the lines of "ok we'll get it". A few weeks later once I finished building my deck, I had some material to return. Evidently thats a no-no at this facility if you have any special order material. One old fellow was so upset at my request that he threw a handful of papers across the floor and mumbled a couple curse words - what a child. I've been in this place a couple times over the last few years and never had a decent experience but this time it was worth a review to speak of my experience.

Got some wood cut to dimensions at the mill. I did business with Frank, the manager at the woodshop. I received an excellent service and sound advices for my project. Frank is a very knowledgeable and friendly employee. I will return again if I need wood for another project. Edit: I realized during the course of my project that the lumbers were not all planed at the same dimension, one was 1/16 larger. Also one lumber was NOT dry, full of sap.

The go to place to get straight lumber and other building supplies that lowes and home depot don't carry. It is like stepping back to a simpler time when service, quality of building supplies and customer satisfaction were what mattered.

Needed advice about remodeling a deck. Mark was a huge help and walked me through the lumbar yard giving me different options and discussing the pro and cons. I did purchase wood from the yard and it was delivered on time and free of charge. Will definitely go back again!!

Friendly staff, helped me choose and load lumber into my truck. The quality of the lumber, though, is what stands out to me the most. I won't be getting any more wood at the big box stores anymore - this is where I will come from now on. It might cost a little more, but it's worth every penny!!!

I feel it necessary to leave a review after the outstanding service I recently received from Poindexter Lumber's shop. They provided the help I needed with my project quickly and with a great attitude. I will definitely revisit Poindexter Lumber and their shop. I'd especially like to thank Frank for all his help and advice.

Elizabeth was professional and kind. Helped us with many great ideas for our remodel. We will use them again on future projects.
