Who wouldn't like a buffet from a steakhouse? I don't, at least not from this place. Chicken-fried, wings, baked and liver fried swai, liver and onions, pork chops, meatloaf and meatballs are your main proteins. Steak is not part of the buffet. It's in the picture on the wall, just not on your plate unless you order it ala carte. The waitresses were not friendly, they seemed bothered that people were coming in to eat. We ate here on 7/13/2023.
Haven’t been to one in years as they’re all closed back home. The service was good, the food was replenished, everything tasted yummy. Would stop in again if traveling through!Recommended dishesSalad Bar
Double sirloin tips and salad bar tonight, hot fresh and tasty!!! Definitely will go back, haven’t been here in awhile but everything was very good this time around! Merry Christmas to all the staff and thank you for the awesome food!
Ate here due to a work overnight run. In at 50 minutes to closer and there was plenty of hot, fresh food. Several items even got more after my first trip up! Nice selection too. The awesome part? These photos were taken at 10 minutes before close. Kinda wish I lived closer.
The food is ok. Some of it really good, some of it just so so. The desserts were above average. The fish was good. Chicken was cooked well, but very gristley. It's pretty expensive, but if you're hungry I guess it's worth it. The girl who brought the drinks was really nice, hostess so so.Food: 3/5
My family and I went to this buffet, my father found a bug dead on his plate after getting his food, he gave it to the manager and she sighed and said I’m so sorry. We sat down and half way threw our plates being gone my mom had to get up and ask for our drinks after that there was not a single soul at our table, we were on our way out and all the workers were “hiding” after we left my mom called and said you could have asked us for a refund the MANAGER said quote on quote “sorry I can’t read minds”. We had to go back in and ask for one, it took her 10 minutes for a simple refund.
Food could use a little seasoning but we left with full bellies. Clean bathrooms. Pleasant waitress. We went on a Friday night and it was really busyFood: 4/5
Ordered the double sirloin tips cooked to medium, pretty sure there was not a double portion there and it was extra well done. I didn't feel like complaining, didn't think it would do any good if they can't tell that it was medium when they put the medium plastic stick in a piece to identify it.Food: 2/5
The salad bar was amazing. Plenty of choices, fresh and full. The food was hot, fresh and delicious and, oh my, those hot dinner rolls!!!! Our waitress was outstanding. **Follow-up two weeks later: We went to Texas Roadhouse yesterday for the first time. it is just down the hill from Ponderosa On the way home after a good but very expensive meal there we decided that from now on we would rather go to Ponderosa. It was soooo noisy at TR, the wait for our food was long, the service mediocre at best, and to top it off my husband had to send his steak back because although he ordered 'well done' it came to him with a bloody center. We never have any of these issues at Ponderosa. Y'all rock! Keep up the good work!
I recommend this place for people with anxiety. I have bad anxiety and can’t go to most restaurants because it’s too loud and overwhelming, but this place’s atmosphere was quiet enough for me, even with a lot of people there. The back room for the larger parties of people was too loud for me, so I don’t recommend that, but otherwise it was great. The buffet was delicious. Some of the food kind of gave me a “home cooked meal” vibe. Decent variety of southern food. There were enough things there that picky eaters would be happy. Just go expecting southern food.
