i also have been told strangers are allowed on my property to steal, and they can only do something if they’re still there when they arrive.. i tried to call to talk about my case and for two hours i was met with voicemails in every department.. protect and serve our fellow rich white men right?? the person on my property literally drove a car drunk to leave my property and they still refused to go after him
The Port Orange Police Department has always been a sort of joke in Port Orange. Even visitors laugh at the way they "enforce the law". Did you know that if you have an intruder in your home, unless you catch or shoot them, the police can do nothing????? They do not even investigate and tell you they have to catch them on property. Do you know how long it takes the average police officer to respond to an intrusion? Around 10 min-1 hour!!! Worst protectors ever! Only serve when it is convenient!
Fantastic Department. Goes above and beyond! I truly appreciate the assistance given by their Detective’s. Plus, great posts on FB guys, keep up the good work. Don’t mind those negative reviews on here. These days, most complainers are anti-police and whiners, who probably never really dealt with you all. They don’t understand the self sacrifice it takes to serve in any capacity.
This is Port Orange’s dirty little secret. The officer’s are totally belligerent and take no time to assess the people involved or the situation. They abuse their badge and title as a law enforcement officer. Not only do they pretend to be all the power as a dictatorship would believe, but they also choose to and ignore any rules or beliefs of the pandemic. Do they know my immune system or what illnesses I have. NO THey chose to narrate how hippa laws allow him to have total disregard of anyone else’s health. My friends this the good old boys club and if the female officers go along with them, well guess what they get to belong to the club. Hey officer did you see this, yep I sure did. Get my picture! For all you northerner’s put up with the cold and snow. Florida and particularly port Orange is so unbelievably crooked #little man syndrome #where is Jimmy Hoffa #officer Taylor decided to join the good old boys club instead of standing up to what he really saw and his badge stood for.
Filed my first detailed theft report at the station. I never heard back until I called after approx 10 days. Very underwhelmed and left feeling as though I was the criminal. I can’t steal from myself. Kindest Regards.
Called to talk to a person in a victims advocate department. The woman, before transferring the call, was very rude. She asked me a question then left me talking to myself and transferred me. People need to be polite and graceful. If you don't like the job you have what are you doing it for? Nobody answered had once Ii was transferred it just rang. I called the attorney general. Some people like me do t commit crimes and are depending on those of the law to protect them and comply to people's needs. Too bad I didn't get her name.
I love this PD! Community oriented and care for the citizens. One of the safest cities in all of Florida and definitely the best around here.
The police in this city are the absolute worst. They pay attention to all the wrong things and harrass the hard working people who live and pay taxes in the city that pays their salery. Just because someone has a nice car with wheels and tint doesn't mean they are a drug dealer, stop profiling you POS cops!! How about you pay attention to all the drug addicts and panhandlers now in our city since Daytona kicked them out. Daytona cops are so much more down to earth and relate to the people they police. Port Orange are all stuck up brown noser's just trying to make quota not caring about the positions they put people in. I hate living in this city and won't be any more once my lease is up.
As I was omw from picking up my roommate from work officer Theodore Kurtz followes me to the job site waves me down because his lights weren't working and tells me he pulls me over because my licences are suspended bc of not having ins. I called my ins company and they had said that my licences were not suspended so I went up to port Orange police department to file a complaint since I had proof and to get my car out of impound and no One would help me. All this bc of Veterans day knowing I couldn't do anything until Monday and the fact probably thinking I'm made out of money for driving a BMW. This is the worst Town I've ever lived in never in my life I had Delt with anything like this I have a clean record and never felt harassed my whole life my attorney is looking into this along with all the other complaints on behalf of Port Orange police department.
I received a threat over the Internet last night so I call POPD the cop gets her and says nothing I can do.. typical popd.. I told the officer this was in fact a felony.. he tries to correct me and say it is not nothing I can do.. well I found the Florida statute 836. 10.. it is in fact a felony.. I will be contacting them to file a formal complaint.. I will also be contacting the mayor to make a complaint.. they should have just replaced the with the sheriff's department. When there jobs were on the line.. but they did not because they just over spent on building the new police department on Clyde Morris.. these cops do nothing when citizens need help.. they forgotten there oath to protect and serve..
