1st of all my experience was the worst experience of my life. I lost my daughter an decided to put her in this funeral parlor because of my past experience with my father and my uncle. This woman indicated she has been in the business 26 years and it is time for her to give it up. I had to do my daughter’s makeup and hair because she looked entirely unpresentable and she indicated that she had an outside person do the makeup and hair, it was clear to me that she didn’t have anyone skilled enough to do my daughters hair which she claimed was matted from the Donor agency and that my daughters horrible expression was because of the machines used to keep her organs alive. Her make up was done 2 shades lighter than my daughter. I spent 2 1/2 hrs preparing my daughter and I was late to her funeral because of it. She demanded that the guests wear masks and I had to supply them. She didn’t want anyone under 12 when my daughter had a brother and a sister that were 1 and 5 years old respectively. She treated my guests very rudely pinpointing them to put on their masks. She harassed my daughter’s father and I telling us that our insurance would not pay her if the medical examiner listed pending as the cause of death. That she was doing me a favor by letting my daughter be viewed. The medical examiner finally talked to her. I am looking for an itemized contest for what I was billed for and will be taking her to court. There was no compassion for our loss and she charged close to $20,000. My daughter is now at peace but I pray that this lady never has to suffer what she put us through with her own family, but then again she should.
WARNING!!! DO NOT PUT SOMEONE YOU LOVE IN THIS FUNERAL!!! Seriously, I wouldn’t even place my worst enemy in this horrible disgusting place. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting. The staff are rude, they harass you. I think they make you wear your masks at all times just so you don’t smell how awful their place smells. Because mask mandates been lifted. Our service ended at 4pm and at 3:50pm they wouldn’t allow anyone in to say their last goodbyes. They have no sympathy. I would rather cremate myself than to be at this funeral home. Save your money. DO NOT PUT ANYONE HERE!!!!!
Gloria took great care of us in our time of sorrow she has always been wonderul when ever our family has needed services and we will continue to go to her for our future needs.
This establishment is a horrible place. They're rude to the point of harassment about every little thing, from the masks, to the parking lot, to our priest being too loud, etc. It got to a point where my family had to ask them to stop. We are trying to grieve in peace but they were relentless to stop that for their own reasons. They also denied our children from seeing their grandmother. This is all on top of them asking for more money after we had pre paid for this funeral. Our contract was fully paid but they felt the need to ask for more money due to the times and circumstances changing. You don't do that when there's a contract fully paid for. No one needs to deal with this after losing someone you love. They took advantage of that because they know they deal with vulnerable people.
Genuinely rude staff. Outdated funeral home with an imaginary mask policy when there is no longer a federal or state mandate to wear them. The staff doesn’t wear them and when they do its under their chins. Don’t bring your loved and deceased here for service. You can do better in your home.
We just buried our beloved brother yesterday June 15th, 2918. I must testify that Mrs. Gloria whom is the owner of the funeral home was beyond professional. She took us under her wings and guided us through this difficult moment. The service given was beyond our expectations. Her compassion and humanity was greatly appreciated. Through this review I want to thank her staff as well. The person that drove the funeral car was an angel. He helped us through all steps until my brother was buried. He also said a beautiful prayer before he walked out as a sign of dignity to inform that it was time for us to leave. A difficult moment for all of us. Without his support we wouldn't know what to do. I highly recommend this funeral home because it's not a business but a family commitment given to the community when respect and compassionate care is mostly needed. Don't resist in calling Mrs.Gloria. She will be there for you like a loving family member will be there for you to assure that you are well when you mostly need loving attention.
By far, the worst and most insensitive funeral home Ive dealt with. I understand COVID creates some difficulties but that doesn’t give you the right to be rude or to rush people while they’re grieving. I do not recommend this funeral home.
IF I CAN GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE. THE STAFF WAS DISRESPECTFUL , RUDE, INCONSIDERATEI AND UNPROFESSIONAL. WE PAID IN ADVANCE AND THEY HAD THE NERVES TO ASK FOR MORE MONEY AFTER WE HAD A CONTRACT THAT DO NOT STATE ANYTHING ABOUT RAISING THE PRICES. THEY RUSHES US OUT AND TOLD US TO GET OUR CARS OUT THE PARKING LOT . THEY DID NOT ALLOW KIDS. THIS PLACE WAS A BAD EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND THE BOARD. DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY THRU WHAT MY FAMILY WENT THRU IN A TIME OF GRIEF. THUMBS DOWN TO PORTA COELI THIS FELT LIKE A NIGHTMARE.
Possibly one of the worst funeral homes in the Bronx. Staff unattentive to visitors. Terrible work in preparing the body for viewing. Face did not resemble the person and the body has an odor.
