Dr Scot Sullivan and staff were awesome. My procedure to remove excess eyelid skin was the best decision I’ve made! Dr Sullivan is an excellent surgeon. I would highly recommend him . I’m so grateful I was referred to Dr Sullivan .
It’s hard not to cry just writing this as I am so overwhelmed with gratitude. Dr Sullivan removed a large mass behind my son’s eye three years ago without any stitches on the outside or any nerve damage to the eye or optic nerve. Unbelievable. Then last week removed a lesion on my daughter’s eye area that included removing part of her lower lid and cutting out a good sized portion of skin. When he told me after surgery all he had to do to have it look symmetrical and “normal” I was braced for it to look much worse- before looking better. But to my surprise it looked amazing! I can tell it is going to heal beautifully. Dr Sullivan is amazing - a true miracle worker in my book!
When removing a growth by my eye, Dr. Sullivan cut so close to my nose that a webbing formed. A webbing is like an extra flap of skin. He admitted to this in a post-op appointment. I have not decided how I'm going to proceed with this, legally, but I thought others should know. This was not the only thing that went wrong. He was also rude and dismissive when I pointed out these problems.
Dr. Sullivan and his staff were amazing! I had to have a Mullerectomy eye surgery to correct droopy eyelid and I am very happy I went to them. I first went to Casey Eye Institute which is where my eye doctor referred me to to get a diagnosis. To say the least my experience there was very poor, they did not provide a lot of information and the quote they gave me regarding the procedure was outrageous and did not include their add on fees and medication. I went to Portland Oculoplastics for a second opinion and Dr. Sullivan went above and beyond. He was very thorough in answering all my questions and providing me information. He did multiple tests that Casey Eye Institute did not bother with and he made sure that there were no concerns or any questions left unanswered. After confirming that I did need a Mullerectomy he had me touch base with his receptionist who was also very knowledgeable about the procedure. The quote she gave me was much more reasonable and she also made sure that any further concerns I had were resolved. I decided that I would go through them to have the surgery. One week before the procedure was to take place I stopped in to make the payment and touch base. They let me know that I would want to pick up my medication a few days beforehand and that even though the procedure was considered cosmetic to still see if insurance would help cover the medication cost, which they did! The day of the surgery I was very nervous but I knew I was in great hands. I was received with warmth and kindness, the assisting nurse Sabrina was diligent to make sure I was comfortable. The procedure itself was very smooth and painless, I was definitely nervous for no reason. I had the surgery in the morning and there was certainly soreness and discomfort sunlight was a bit irritating throughout the day but icing helped a lot. It's now the day after and I'm feeling almost as good as new. There's still some soreness and I'm still quite a bit bruised and swollen, but I was able to put my contacts in and go about my day as usual. My biggest concern was that the sutures would bother me and right after the procedure they did, but once the numbing shots wore off and I was able to blink normally that subsided. Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait for the healing process to be finished so I can enjoy the results! Once again many thanks to Dr. Sullivan and his staff, I would highly recommend visiting their office if you're in need of an ophthalmic plastic & reconstructive surgeon.
